Wow, Spring already?

With the spring season of 2007 fast approaching, it’s time to do a bit of cleaning up on this blog. To make room for the new shows, I have dropped Manabi Straight, and have also stopped watching it. Venus Versus Virus may or may not be dropped, though at the moment the subs seem to have stalled. As for the others, I will get around to posting one final entry for Night Head Genesis some time when I am free (or very, very bored). Kanon, Code Geass, Tokimeki, Sumomomo, Pumpkin Scissors, Kyosora and Busou Renkin should all finish when spring starts. This leaves only Bleach, Naruto, Nodame Cantabile, Tokyo Majin, D.Gray-man and Death Note. This leaves many slots for new shows. I left out Negima!? because the subs are unbelievably slow and I have no idea when they will finish. I haven’t checked Tonagura yet but it should have finished or close to it.

Of all the new shows to air, there are quite a few that I am really looking forward to due to various reasons, though the main one is that I have read the original manga. I will have a full preview up in a week or two.

Hayate the Combat Butler

This is THE show I will definitely watch and blog no matter what. The manga is just too awesome, and what’s more, Nagi is being voiced by Rie Kugimiya (Shana!!!) Hayate the Combat Butler is a nice little comedy about a poor high schooler who ends up being the butler of a rich loli after a failed attempt to kidnap her!

Nagasarete Airantou

Now this is one awesome harem/comedy manga! I especially love the character Machi; she’s just so kickass! However, there’s a high chance that this anime will not be of high quality, so that’s a downer. Nagasarete Airantou is about a guy who gets stranded on an island, where it just so happens that every male had died some years before (meaning he is the only guy on the island).

Seto no Hanayome

No, this is not some epic fantasy show, but yet another comedy, this time about a mermaid and the mafia! This is another manga I follow, and is about a guy who discovers the existence of mermaids/men and has to marry mermaid he discovers in order to keep everything a secret!

Lucky Star

A 4koma that I haven’t actually read save for the first chapter. What gets me interested though is the fact that KyoAni is behind this show. I have made it essential for myself to watch every work by Kyoto Animation! Being a 4koma, this show isn’t about much, just a bunch of girls and their everyday getups.

Kamichama Karin

A manga I started reading not too long ago, though I haven’t gotten very far yet. I’m not sure how much I will like this, but it’s worth a shot. Kamichama Karin, as the name suggests, is about a little girl called Karin who finds out that she is actually god! What might keep me coming might be the cuteness of the show!

Lovely Complex

Man, I really need a nice school based shoujo, and this is another title of which I have read part of the manga. Being a shoujo-school show, you can guess the plot already. Essentially, it’s about a girl and a guy obviously, though this particular show features a very tall girl and a short guy…hmm, maybe not what some people would imagine!

Bokurano

I have only read up to the second volume, though I hear many great things about this anime adaptation. Based on that, I will most likely be watching this as well, and I imagine it will be subbed timely. Bokurano is about a group of young students who end up being the pilots of a giant mecha. This show is definitely not your average mecha, as death and the harshness of reality are clearly not absent.

I can agree with Seto no Hanayome, made me laugh alot, but by the look of the anime they maybe changing the art style somewhat.

While I don’t agree with your drop of Manabi Straight (;_;), most of the shows you’ve selected are ones that I’ll probably take a look at this season. And more people need to watch Hayate the Combat Butler when it comes out. :3

The BigN: yeah i didnt want to drop it either, but i found absolutely nothing to say after watching a few more episodes of it, so blogging it would have been impossible

Danny: Oh I see lol. Well I’m still developing mine as we speak. There’s a lot of things I want to watch but only really will be blogging about 4-5 of them. I’m trying to limit my entry to a top 10 thing but that’s very hard to do right now.

But I’ll have to limit myself somewhat because of upcoming final exams in April and the start of another semester. >_

I am not too sure about “Seto no Hanayome”, it quickly end up as a standard harem comedy and true, some parts were somewhat interesting at start but when they returned home it seem to going the same old formula.

I liked when I read of Hayate … I hope they keep the “catgirl” in …
