True Tears: Episode 12

Rating: 8/10

Impressions:

I hate how animes can change a character completely in one episode. I liked Hiromi’s personality. Quite a lot actually. But quite obviously, she has been portrayed as the ‘villain’ in this episode, with her ‘leave us alone’ rant and tears/makeup, acting all high and mighty…and I can’t help but like Noe better. I also think it more likely that Shin ends up with Noe, which would be a good move if the writers wanted to NOT follow the traditions of harem anime. Noe has always been the main girl anyway, so I guess it would only be natural. She simply doesn’t seem like hte romance type though…

Either way, the writers have been awesome up to this point, continuously making the story captivating and unpredictable. True Tears is definitely one of the better romances out there, and in my opinion, it’s a harem done correctly. Speaking of harems, the third harem member, Aiko, has never really been a contender, which probably makes it more realistic. Surprisingly, her involvement in the story has not seem to ended yet, and although I doubt any major development, I wouldn’t be taken aback if they squeeze in some final elaboration of her relationship with Nobuse or Shin. There’s still the question of who Shin is going to end up with…if anyone…

Yes, True Tears IS a harem done correctly. I’m sure we can all agree on that.

I hate how they portray Hiromi as the “villain.” She’s like Shin’s mother in the first half of the series. And Noe, like you said, isn’t the romance type, plus (and I’ve said this again and again), she’s got that sis-com brother who wants “that kind of kiss.” Wow, what a pervert…

As for the actual episode, pretty good quality, especially with the dance. Man, the opening wasn’t just for show, that’s for sure. If I were to take a guess at the conclusion of this series, I would say Shin will show Noe the picture book and help get her tears back and end up with Hiromi; Nobuse and Aiko will start over, as indicated several episodes back; and all will be well because happy endings over bad/sad endings.

    …I hope…

Oh, also, the writers have done an excellent job keeping the story, character developments and the plot twists even, very consistent. So if what Shin said to Hiromi about doing everything properly is true, then he will do what’s right and end up with her (again, another hopeful wish but I’ll stay firm with my prediction).

Yeah, I’ve been on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen. The only part of this show I have disliked is how little they explained about why Kanae was so evil at first. Other than that, I still can’t tell who Shinichiro is going to end up with!

luckly it didn’t end in some incest kiss scene between Jun and Noe. *spit*

This dude is crazy, even if he likes her more than a brother is allowed to, he should just have stfu and keep it for himself.
IT’S FORBIDDEN LOVE – nvm I hope Noe didn’t jump on purpose from the tree thought she is most likely that kind of stupid person. >_>

I’m no Noe hater just hope she will get together with Shin, cause in this episode Hiromi was very evil towards Noe and btw. her lipstick didn’t look very attractive.

Yeah, I agree that the lipstick didn’t really look that good on any of the ladies. I guess the character design just doesn’t go well with makeup.

I actually hope that Noe won’t end up with Shin. Hiromi is portrayed to be more ‘villainous’ here but that only shows how much she does like Shin.

And as for Jun, I think it is sweet how he developed ‘love’ for his little sister. Actually, out of all of the guys, I can’t help but like Jun’s character, though he was somewhat selfish. >

Much of the scenes lead me to wonder if Shin actually likes Noe. I think he feels more so remorse for Noe? Or maybe Shin just wants to protect her but I think he truly likes Hiromi.

I think this just might be a Shin and Noe ending xP, though I am not actually rooting for that.

But nevertheless, whatever the ending is- I think True Tears will be one of my favorite romance animes. I love how they used the winter season and snowy background for this anime, I think it matched the atmosphere very well.

There is no way that Shin’s heart is with Hiromi anymore. In the past two episodes, Noe is the girl in his mind. She is also the girl that he realizes is his true motivation. Yes, Hiromi is his childhood crush, but that was more of an admiration-from-a-distance kind of thing. On the other hand, with Noe, he learned how to take flight as a man — something he has been unable to do.

So, NO HIROMI. GO AWAY, HIROMI.

    Noe needs her love reciprocated.

hmm… they definately did a quick change on character traits didn’t they?
i cant say i particularly like either of the two girls in this one, or Jun for that matter.

Personally, I found that explanation very strange. Is it even correct to decide who your true love is base on how beneficial she is to you? Isn’t it the same as basing it on how wealthy each girl is?

I’m really surprised that people feel this eps Hiromi is so different from those in other eps. I mean, sure she would confront Noe. Why wouldn’t she? Don’t forget that Noe literally brought a fight to her just for making Shin’ichiro feel bad some episodes bad. I don’t think anything she does in this episode makes her out as a villian, its just that she is in a situation where once again she is going to be left alone and struggling with that. But, I digress. *shrugs*

Overall the whole thing felt flat to me, it kind of lost some of the wonder of the earlier episodes. So when I watched it and could predict it scene by scene, it felt weak to me. I hope the finale is much better.

Hiromi’s actions were quite in line with her character. I think some viewers have inadvertently idealized her over the past weeks. However, that insecure, sometimes mean-spirited side was always there. As with Shinichirou’s mother (who probably had a huge influence on Hiromi’s mindset – it’s a cycle repeating itself), Hiromi desperately fears the rival who won’t disappear from her “lover’s” mind.

Anyway, true tears is a beautifully animated show. However, it has definitely weakened since the initial episodes (still above average, but far from fantastic).

Hiromi’s actions just prove to the viewers what kind of character she is and how much she truly loves Shin. She is afraid that Shin will end up leaving her because she knows that Shin is always preoccupied with thoughts of Noe. So I feel that this scene wasn’t a major shock. True, the Hiromi now is quite different than the Hiromi in the first episode (where Hiromi was pretty much passive about everything) but it doesn’t mean that her character ‘completely’ changed.

    “Noe needs her love reciprocated.”

Does Noe even know what ‘love’ really means?

I don’t mean to belittle Noe because out of every character in True tears, she is my favorite- but to me, Noe seems like a little child. I don’t feel that she understands what love is. True, she did confess to Jun that she thought she was in love because her heart and body feels differently around Shin now but I am still not convinced that Noe really loves Shin. Most of her actions towards Shin are actions of admiration, she treats Shin like an idol because she believes he could fly. She admires him, definitely, but love…I wouldn’t been too confident about that.

“Does Noe even know what ‘love’ really means?”

Does anyone really know what love is? How many times have we fallen for someone because of their looks? So how much can you expect these teenagers to understand love?

But there is such a measuring stick that is proposed by this story: The imagination of true heart.

Shin is learning how to use it. This is how he was able to conclude that Jibetta would die if he flew. The true heart cannot tell a lie under fantasy.

Now, if you accept this argument, then ask yourself who has been occupying in Shin’s mind (or heart — same thing in Japanese terms) in the past two episodes?

    hmm…
So far it seems like although Shinichiro is in ‘love’ with Hiromi, his imagination of the true heart all along has set it’s only on Noe.

Also, it seems like Noe isn’t aware of that fact, but Hiromi is, and is trying all she can to keep them from both realizing that fact.
    >.> but that’s just my analysis, what do I know? haha.

Noe’s too weird and stupid… I hope this jumping off the tree thing and hurting herself doesn’t bring about Shin’s pity or something to screw up the story.

Remember, Hiromi was totally warming her hands on the bike fire… that’s her, plain and clear; optimistic. Truthfully, I don’t mind either girl, but Hiromi seems a natural choice in the end.

Noe resolve would work better as a learning experience, a really good message of looking forward, and flying. Who knows kudos, may be nobody gets the dude

Pointing at nihil, but your a asshole. It’s just that Noe is just different from other people and that her mind is more of a carefree attitude. You can’t call her stupid just because on how she reacts to things, when she found out that Shin liked her, she matured a bit, NOT BY A LOT, but you can notice it a bit.

So what if Noe changes things, It was Shin’ichiros fault that he decided to make a deal with Jun to go out with her and vice versa to Hiromi which turned for the worse once Hiromi and Noe figured it out, and Noe got hurt hard by it.

I like Noe just because of one thing, she’s different. A breath of fresh air rather than generic girls that usually the majority of people will love since they usually change into and where you JUST have to give sympathy to. (I’m pointing at Hiromi, which in this episode, she’s a wreck of emotions at this point.)

Although it’s the same for Noe, I felt that there was a reason she fell from that tree, not only that everyones feelings was being revealed to her from this episode (especially with the incest with Jun.)

Recalling back from the 1st episode, you see that Shin saw Noe from a tree, when she was stuck, she asked for help, but Shin refused, she decided to jump, but survived with minor scratches.(Well, since where Noe fell wasn’t that high from this episode.) It’s more of a symbol to this episode now, Noe decided to climb the tree to supposely try to “fly”, but failed.

And Shin saw all of this, too late to do anything about it.

I can tell that Jibeta and Raigomaru are almost the counter-parts of Shin and Noe.

Well, I wrote a lot, but that’s all I have to say.
