Tokimeki Memorial ~ Only Love: Episode 11

It’s been almost three weeks since the last time I blogged an episode of this show, and I have practically forgotten about it. Maybe it’s because of that when I say I like this episode quite a bit over the past few, or it could just be genuinely better. I have been easily converted to a Mina fan now, as her real personality truly begins to show this episode. She’s very different to the stereotype of shy and reserved that had been attributed to her (by me lol), with her courage to talk to the guys she likes, as well as being pretty outspoken as well. Not to mention she is actually pretty cute this episode (the quality has been pretty high lately).

It worries me how bland the purpose of this episode is. I don’t mean it is to develop Mina more and make her and Aoba closer or anything, but the in-anime goal that is achieved in the episode…which is to obtain each other’s phone numbers…That’s a bit lame IMO, but oh well, as long as it works out in the end, it should be fine. All in all though, this episode has its mix of comedy and nice romantic moments…bah romantic? Ok not really, but ’sweet’ moments at least. And also, Sayuri is still right at the bottom of my favourites list…actually she’s not on that list at all. I hate characters with like her…so it’s still Mina and Tsukasa, though it’s not like either of them will end up with Aoba…

I’m a bit disappointed with how Aoba reacts to everything. He really has no spine and submits himself to other people’s wills too easily. Although he doesn’t agree with such things against him, he never stands up for himself…or is too slow too. It’s clearly a\n exaggeration as to when he is chased b hordes of guys, so I don’t see why the producers won’t change his attitude a bit and make him to some crazy things to retaliate. However, he really needs to get his act together in such situations where is he is falsely accused…like this episode when he is scolded by Sayuri…ooh how heart wrenching for Aoba! xD I guess Sayuri won’t fall for him until a lot later on…

It’s a shame how far this show has fallen from its origins. I still remember literally laughing out loud when YakuChiki first appeared, and the omnipresent neko-mimi, usagi-mimi…____-mimi are all but gone.
Hopefully Aoba gets his act together, tsukasa gets an exponential increase in her IQ (as much as I fanboy over her, she terribly naive) and the series charges full speed into some serious drama.
Psst, go read Hinano’s entries and tell me if it gets better or not =D
