Some Notable Fall Series

So now I’ve seen four or five episodes of most of the series I’m watching now and can make a few conclusions. There are too many people blogging Yoake, like me. There aren’t enough people blogging Gift. There are a lot of people blogging Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, which is good. There is (I think) no one blogging Super Robot Wars, which is also good. There are a shitload of people blogging both Kanon and Death Note, which is expected. There aren’t enough people blogging Code Geass. Negima and Happiness subs are coming too slow. Bakumatsu used to not get enough attention but now it does. There are too many people blogging D.Gray-man, and not enough people blogging Love Doll. As for me, blogging Yoake was a mistake, but it still can redeem itself. Pumpkin Scissors is also getting a surprisingly high number of bloggers, but that’s ok since it’s a god show.

This show is definitely not getting enough attention. It’s not good enough to attract a wide audience like D.Gray-man or something, but currently I only know of one blog blogging this show, and that is TL-Chan’s Anime Blog. Hooray for her! I really regret not blogging this series for a show like Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na Crescent Love, as that is total shit. And I don’t have enough time to catch up on four episodes. Gift has turned out to be one of my more favoured shows this season, mainly because the quality is decent, animation consistency fair, character design cute with a strong male lead. It’s a harem with a not-so generic storyline, as the main character confesses his love for the main harem candidate in only three episodes! The guy’s not a wimp who you wanna smash his face either. I highly recommend this show for those who like a good romance, as it’s more that than harem. It’s far better than Tokimeki Memorial and Happiness in that sense.
~Favourites~
Death Note
My third favourite show this season: Death Note is more than your average detective thriller. The manga is famous as well as the anime; it sports tremendous amounts of intellect and wit, as the two best minds of the world battle each other to see who can get to the other first. There is Light, the anti-hero lead character, a high school boy who possesses the power to kill anyone, anywhere, as long as he knows their name and face. Then there’s L, the world’s best detective who keeps his identity completely secret, and has the power of all the investigative forces of the world…that is, if he chooses to use them. High quality, good character design and most importantly, awesome music!
Code Geass – Lelouch of the Rebellion
A captivating mecha show with a little bit of Death Note in it. We have a brilliant student thinker as our main character, who possesses the unique power of controlling anyone he wishes, but only once. In order to save the Japanese, who have been oppressed by the wretched Britannians, he must utilise his skill and overthrow the current power in Japan. If you ask me, this show is more filling than Death Note, as it has better character design, more action (and of course, mecha) as well as some of the intellect that Death Note reeks of. There’s also the good school setting in some parts, which is what I always look for in an anime. The reason school settings are good is because the number of characters are usually high, and Code Geass definitely does not feel lonely in any way.
Kanon
Those out there who love this show are probably mostly biased in one way or another. It’s either the love for the original, admiration of Kyoto Animation or reverence of Suzumiya Haruhi (as someone said earlier which I can’t remember who^^). I love Kanon for the art and high quality, so I guess I can say I am a KyoAni lover. There are of course those who love the show purely based on what it has to offer, and they are romance and drama, the key aspects which make up a strong storyline. Apart from the quality, it’s the storyline that has everyone hooked. But if you like fast plot movement, more action or simply more of everything, then this show isn’t for you. But if you like cute, moe girls, a strong Kyon-like male lead with a deep plot, look no further and indulge yourself in this excellent show!

no red garden @_@;;;; T_T
*cries* why do everyone hate red garden desu~
Hey Suke, make you sure you tell me what your blog is once you’ve set it up! And impz, I don’t hate it, I just don’t watch it because it didn’t appeal to me. I’m already watching too many shows this season anyway…
Is Kanon really that good? I see the main cast is quite childish so I just skipped it. Since you give it 10/10 maybe I’ll give it a try. As for Red Garden, not many people are blogging it.
As for Yoake, I kinda like it but it doesn’t have re-watch value though.
well, you really shouldn’t trust my ratings, since they are standardized. Which means, my favourite would be a 10/10, and my least favourite would be a 0/10, but since I’m nice I gave yoake a 4/10
wahh Danny Ç.Ç
My blog is http://daisuke.animeblogger.net but It’s not finished yet, I don’t know u_u
maybe I’ll make it in english, It’s in portuguese right now… the only thing u’ll understand is the first part of the About.
well, tomorrow I’ll decide that, g2g sleep now, it’s late Z_z
cya!
Oh I c, just something you should know, it’s called daisuke right? Well, the hiragana says daisuki, not daisuke, but I dunno if that’s intentional. And yes, please write in English!!
I like the rating style. Code Geass, I may write somethings about that one, dunno. I’ve been watching the raws, mecha action is w/e, but like you say, Light 75% and interesting school situation makes it mysteriously enjoyable. Plus, the character designs are hot. ^^
