Impressions:

At least this episode is much more eventful than the last, and as expected, something goes wrong which causes an unprepared Sonic Diver launching, and ultimately causes the recognition of a lesser known pilot…right, what I mean is, Eika goes off with Raijin, hoping to be the best, though due to her naturally low synch ratio (lol NGE), she’s not too good with handling her Sonic Diver. Then, the heroine of the story, Otoha, takes off with Reijin and owns Eika in terms of synching skills (though Eika does get some points for preventing them from crashing at the very end). Well know we know that Otoha is special and will most likely be the best in the future…

Speaking of this event, it looks like Eika is getting closer to Otoha, and eventually Karen, a lot quicker than I expected. Things should be getting to where they were during the OAV pretty soon, where the three girls are practically family and Karen isn’t as shy, except around her love interest (he’s a cook in the OAV right?) It also looks like this same character will be showing up next episode, since Karen apparently loses something with sentimental value, which is picked up by some new character. And on the topic of love interests, I guess it’s obvious now that Otoha is being paired with Ryohei, as is in the OAV.

These training arcs do feel very slow, though I say they’re still infinitely better than Idolmaster. I attribute this to much more likeable characters and better mecha animation. The latter seems to retain the same quality as the OAV. However slow though, the introduction of new characters is always fun, while the question of whether the temporary collaborator that defeated Eika will return or not, as well as whether/when the worms will return, should keep things interesting for the meantime. The next episode seems to be a character development episode, which I do like, though I’d still prefer some greater action instead. Hope something like that happens soon.
