Sky Girls: Episode 12

Ok, I’ve decided to catch up with Sky Girls, and hopefully before the last episode is subbed. I should be able to catch up within two days or so, and then I’ll move on to others like D.Gray-man and Naruto. Anyway, this episode focuses on Karen and her (who would’ve thought) ani-sama. She obsessed over him so much that I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time she opens her mouth, I hear ‘nii-nii’ instead of whatever she’s supposed to say. I kinda wished they would finally meet, but then that would ruin the air of support thing Karen had going on around her. It would be like saying, “I do everything for my brother, so now that I’ve met him, I don’t hafta do shit.”
Well, they’re FINALLY on the Koryu, which means the turning point of the story is here. Or, it should be anyway. Hopefully, we’re going to get an actual plot now, with twists, action and drama like a normal mecha series. So far it’s been nothing but slow-paced character development, which is good an’ all, up until a certain point. Hopefully there’s some large conspiracy going on, something like hidden plans to use the Sonic Divers as weapons of mass destruction or whatever, pitting the Koryu against some large government organisation when they refuse to comply…well yeah.

lol, the action does pick up, because yeah — real missions finally. But I think a lot of Sky Girls’s charm is in its character development, which differentiates it from the basic mecha series. So I hope it doesn’t breach your tolerance level in later eps, but the increased action should help.
Karen could probably pull off a cuter nii-nii routine than Satoko. And your comment about ‘ruining the air of support’ reminds me of the latest Fuuko bit in Clannad, heh.
