Nominees in for ~Most unexpectedly good show~ Vote Now!!

Yes, please VOTE in the poll in the sidebar to the right. This question is self explanatory, so go for it! For me, the most unexpectedly good show would have to be Gurren Lagann. I thought it would be utter crap when I first had a look at it before it aired, and I still wasn’t very convinced after the first episode. But from there, it just skyrocketed! But it’s a different story when it comes down to nominations. Ef came first with 7 nominations, followed by Oh! Edo Rocket, Terra E and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei with 3 each. But I have a strong feeling that this won’t reflect the poll results very well. The original post is here.

At first I tought Bamboo Blade is just a typical high school sport club anime. But after seeing miyamiya in episode 3, I instantly knew this would be a good if not great animt. Psycho Moé ftw!

I voted for Moyashimon… I knew the premise, but the slice-of-life + serviceful characters + “brewing my time” won me over. I would have voted Gurren Lagann, but I expected it to deliver. ef would have been close though.

I too vote for Bamboo Blade, for Tamaki and GREAT JUSTICE! But seriously, I expected nothing and got a great show (at least so far).

I WOULD have voted for Shion no Ou, but it wasn’t an option :)

I voted for Gurren. I have a love-hate relationship with Gainax. I loved Abenobashi and Puchi Puri Yushi but loathed Melody of Oblivion and EVA (yes I said it). I also did not like how they handled Kare Kano. However Gurren Lagann was epic from start to finish.

Bamboo Blade is good but I was looking forward to that one from the start of the fall season. It is a very fun show.

I’m surprised Gurren is at the top actually, esp. since I thought the whole show fell apart after the jump to the future. That removed though, the list looks the way I would imagine it.
