Following this post and after tallying up the nominations and disregarding shows that aren’t 2006 ones, I have come down to 11 series. The nominees are as follows:

I voted for Black Lagoon, and to be honest, I think 3 of the nominees should be DQed due to technicality, since they *have* sequals announced already. Namely Shana (well, ok, only a movie here), Suzumiya Haruhi, and Zero no Tsukaima. Not that I’m not anticipating their sequels with every fiber of my being….
I voted for Ouran… it was 26 episodes already but I felt like this series could go on forever.
It was a tough choice between BBB and BLagoon(BL), but the thought of Roberta’s return( based on the manga) being fully animated to showcase all of her glory is enough to tilt it into BL’s favour.
I disregarded Higurashi, Shana, SHnY, and Zero no Tsukaima because they already have sequels planned.

Pretty hard to pick from series that ended rather than began in this year… that rules out all the good fall shows ^^;; Oh well, saying them anyway.

For categories 3,4,9, and 10, I nominate Simoun. Oo;
I would have voted for Simoun in this category, but I think it ended and finished just right and doesn’t need a sequel. So I voted Mushishi, because I could watch that series forever and ever witout it ending, as long as the quality stayed the same of course.
Seeing as I nominated .Hack//Roots, I’m going to vote for this as well. It’s such an incredible pity that it just ended with episode 26, leaving so many questions unanswered. It’s a huge waste of a great concept.
And yeah, shouldn’t Higurashi, Suzumiya Haruhi, Shakugan no Shana and Zero no Tsukaima be neglected in this one, seeing as they already have sequels planned and all?

I’m a bit confused, is this sequels we want to get made or announced sequels we want to watch now?
*.hack//Roots is a prequel to the .hack//G.U. games so there is VERY little chance for any anime sequels
*Higurashi already has an announced sequel (or at least another season)
*Suzumiya’s been getting varoius reports of another season (as far as I’m interested it’s hopefully untrue)
*and more Black Lagoon? The sequel just finished…
*Zero no Tsukaima also has a sequel announced already…
As for the others… I’m disappointed there’s no OTHER vote option….
Shakugan no Shana is getting a movie
and Suzumiya Haruhi is getting a 2nd season(ditto)
and other series I dunno.

Damn.. I shouldn’t have voted after I was still dazed after waking up… I voted for “Zero no Tsukaima,” but as kacpy said, the sequel has already been announced. I kinda wanted to go for “Simoun,” but as anonymous said, it ended just right (unless the writers have some other fantastic areas to explore). Though “Shakugan no Shana” is getting a movie, the movie is only a retelling of the Friagne arc, so a sequel would be good; however, there may not be enough materials in the novels for another 24 episodes. I’m surprised no one voted for “Blood +” (as of yet) since it was so popular when it was airing.

Ok now about the shows which already have a sequel…
Firstly when I mean sequel i mean a TV series sequel, so a movie/oav/game doesnt count. Next, for ZnT and SHnY, the reason I left them in was because a) by the time people told me about it was too late and b) just because there is a sequel, doesnt mean you dont want to have it. And since no one has seen it yet, I’d say those shows are still legit. I mean, for example, would you suddenly NOT want a sequel when one is officially announced?
