New Evangelion Series – Petit Eva (OAV)

I seriously can’t stop laughing. Apparently, there’s going to be a new Evangelion series—an OAV spinoff, and from looking at the picture, I’m sure everyone’s can guess what it’s going to be like. (From ANN) There will three episodes to “Petit Eva ~Evangelion@School~”, and I seriously can’t wait to see this. I guess it’s going to be set in a school, and of course it’s not going to be serious. I love the idea of there being three different Rei’s—one of them being the Rei you see in Shinji’s perfect, third-impacted world in episode 26. Asuka will probably be similar to the episode 26 version as well. Anyway, Darkshaunz has a nice post on it, go and read it. Now. Or the official site.

Yeah, Petit Eva looks like a lot of fun. Expected it to be super-cute, wacky, light, crazy and probably poke some fun at the original series. ^_^

Hopefully this will be watchable. There’s nothing intrinsically good about the design as far as I’m concerned, so let’s hope there will actually be some solid humor to enjoy.

I’m a big Eva fan (the only person in town with an blinking Eva phone strap, haha and Asuka desktop bg on my dual monitor setup at work) but I do have my standards for entertainment… the two comics Darkshaunz featured were okay, though, so I’m hopeful.

One big concern: suppose I enjoy it as an Eva fan; will those unfamiliar with Eva still be able to enjoy most of the humor? That’s something the show needs to be successful with, I believe. Otherwise the fan base stagnates the way it does with so many spinoffs in other franchises.

The neon genesis evangelion and other animes make me sad when I fimish the series *cry* well the NGE was a bit discusting but in a fun way and the maker really makes real point bc inside there is something and reality is being part of the point of NGE . Asuka doesn’t die shinji tried to but then let go and asuka said discusting. On the ending of the movie I think that shinji will take a while in order to have children with ASUKA bc shinji likes rei and asuka I think
