Negima!? Episode 7

Rating: 9/10

Impressions:

Yes, Negima!? is now my top priority because it is currently my favourite show of this season. Why then, you ask, are my scores for Negima!? lower than shows like Code Geass, Kanon and Asatte no Houkou? I really don’t know, but it’s most likely that I can’t be stuffed going back and changing the scores right now. This switch in preferences happened rather suddenly though. I haven’t been thinking about which show is my favourite lately, and the last time I thought about this, it meant Kanon > Code Geass > Death Note. So then one day (namely today) I stopped and thought about this topic again…and realised Negima!? had just exceeded all the other anime! *Shock!* I must comment on this show’s randomness; it’s freakin’ awesome! The Baka Rangers, Chupacabra, ‘cameraman’ speaking, sudden switches to overhead-gameboy-RPG style, whacky alter-egos and so on. Nothing is more entertaining that this. I was debating over whether to do this post in place of Bleach 107, and I also considered merging this post with Negima!? 08, but both ideas went down the drain because of no reason at all. I don’t know why I told you that in the first place. It was probably just to fill space.

Anyway, episode 7, an episode quite like a filler though apparently not, as it is a standalone. However, it does play the important role of introducing a new character, Sayo the ghost. At first I didn’t realise she was a ghost, just very pale for some reason. >_> Yeah, I was obviously wrong. I’ve heard that she’s rather naughty in other versions of Negima, but I think I’d prefer this type; reserved at times but with a habit to play and run amok and random times. But now that she’s been introduced, hopefully the show can return to the story, which appears to have started with the fairy possessing everyone. I dunno, I have no idea what’s going on anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Next episode, though, appears to focus on the twins. However, I really don’t mind what Negima!? goes on about, whether it’s a fast action-packed magic battle or an OAV-like standalone with lots of fanservice and water…And apparently, Negima is meant to reveal his secret to many more people, though the two stuffed-animal things are apparently preventing him from doing so. I really can’t complain, since the show is doing fine right now, and the frog dude is really quite funny. Now I have to watch the next episode…almost caught up!

There isn’t season 2 that I am aware of. In fact there is the “remake” (as referred to above) which instead of being called Mahou Sensei Negima is called Negima?! (Note the ?!). You can do some general searches for .torrents or Youtube it but don’t look for direct download.. you’re probably out of luck.
