Impressions:

Negima!? never ceases to amaze me with its hilarity and magical battle scenes. I’m still obsessing over Konoka’s kawaii-ness though xD She’s not as cute this episode, though we do get to see her rare card abilty, which is something I can’t really describe. She’s also pretty slick with seductive abilities, especially since she’s realised Setsuna’s affection for her. The indirect kiss mental ordeal for Setsuna brought wonders. Needless to say, this show is magnificent, with the cute girls, awesome comedy and, proven by this episode, high quality fight scenes. Setsuna seems a bit overpowered though, and it’s a shame Konoka didn’t kick more butt than she did. Chisame also brings up her internet idol fixation whilst still under the fairy’s spell. The way she and Nodoka handles it is hilarious, and even though it’s during a highly important, first ‘real’ battle, it fits in perfectly with the general feel Negima!? has set up. I’m extremely impressed with the sharpness that remains with this show as well. Too bad there aren’t many signature transition-less scenes.

I wonder if any more of Negi’s students are going to make contracts with him. It would be pretty cool if the entire class did, creating quite an imposing force. Ahh, I can just imagine now…Negi summoning the cards, only to find that they are all suka cards. He’d have a hard time looking after his new farm lol. However, the main (human) characters as depicted on the official site only include Negi, Asuna, Nodoka, Konoka and Setsuna, though the character section goes into much more detail with the other girls. Chisame, or rather, Chiu, would be another awesome candidate as a partner. Negi still has to face those two talking animals, which seem to put off those Mahou Sensei Negima fans, though personally I think they are great fun. It’s just another random add on to liven up the show a bit. I wonder if Mahou Sensei Negima has Chiu in it. Also, according to some other people’s blogs, the next episode will be about Sayo. Ehehe, who’s Sayo again? I don’t usually remember names this quickly, and I’m actually pretty proud of myself that I’ve remember these few names at least.

Plot Outline:

- Yue, having noticed the disappearance of Negi and the others, rushes to the investigate
- She finds nothing but meets up with Haruna
- Haruna suggests that it must be the chupacabra and drags her off to find them
- Meanwhile, Negi and the others have landed in an unknown land which appears to be Wales
- Before them is a large tree, with Chisame, Yuuna and Kaede sitting on top, along with the evil fairy controlling them
- Negi quickly transforms his three partners, though all three cards turn out to be suka cards
- Asuna, Nodoka and Konoka all transform into useless puppet-like animals
- The three girls under the fairy’s control start hurtling down to strike at Negi

- Having no other choice, Negi transports everyone away
- After a while, his three partners lose their energy and revert back to normal
- While having a makeshift dinner, Konoka suggests that Setsuna make a contract with Negi
- She tempts her by saying that kissing Negi would mean an indirect kiss with Konoka
- Although Setsuna becomes tempted, she refuses in the end
- After eating, Negi’s group head back to confront the fairy
- His partners all manage to transform using the rare card
- Nodoka’s rare card gives her the ability to foretell the enemies moves, while Konoka’s gives her a unique fan-like whip of sorts

- After some intense fighting, Negi and Setsuna corner the fairy in a room
- Just before Negi can seal it away, the fairy summons a mass of branch-like vines to trap everyone and isolate Negi and Setsuna from Nodoka, Asuna and Konoka
- Desperate to save her ojou-sama, Setsuna agrees to make a contract with Negi
- She transforms using the rare card as well, gaining wings and a staf
- Using her new powers, she easily destroys the plant and overcomes the fairy’s magic
- Finally, Negi manages to seal the fairy and return everyone back to the academy
- At the end of the day, Negi receives another letter from his sister
