Naruto ~ Shippuden: Episode 5

Impressions:
So this week we get the conclusion/aftermath of the bell test as well as a cliffhanger ending for Gaara and his fight with Deidara. The pacing is still rather slow, though it’s finally sped up at least. The quality is much higher as well now, and I don’t understand why the producers didn’t animate the first few episodes like this as well. Anyway, I really think the Gaara fight was dragged out far too long. By the end of it, it had become tedious and repetitive. I generally dislike fighting between controlled objects/monsters, and this was no exception (sand vs clay). Next episode will hopefully see some faster pacing!

they just are taking too long to go over a chapter of the story. But gaara is so awesom ~~
I agree, they are stretching this story well past it’s limits. I hope this isn’t the actual game plan for the entire series.

Too. Much. Stretching. It pisses me off that it’s so FRIKKEN slow … at least the animations better =3, but … I can’t say I hate seeing Gaara and Deidara, though … I love those two but the fight is way too long
Yeah, by the looks of it, this whole Gaara arc will take two seasons to complete xDD As long as they up the action in this uber long fight, and in the fights to come, I can deal with a fight lasting 7+ episodes.
The whole battle is really boring me now, I can only watch sand chasing Deidara on a bird for so long. The whole point of this battle was the speed at which it took place and the sense of urgency, both of which are non-existent now. I dread to think about the Sasori battle later on…
A lot of people are saying they are stretching the story and blah balah blah
But honestly if they immeditly got to the action then Naruto would be finished quickly
Also by stretching the story it hypes people up more for the final etc.

jason, i personally do not like Naruto very much and was not hyped up at all, but I can argue against your statement.
there are many people who like naruto because they think it is good. However, if it becomes bad, they will not like it, right? the problem here is, for many of these people, if Naruto stays at this pace, it will become bad. And if it becomes bad, they will stop liking it. The whole reason they want to watch the show is obviously because they like it, so I’m sure that these people would rather watch a shorter but better Naruto, than a longer and more boring one.
Of course, there are people like you who have other opinions, but that goes beyond the debate here.
jason: I rather they stick tot he standard pacing and catch-up to manga, then introduce a new set of fillers so that I can easily skip those episodes

ep 6 will not be out until the day after (Friday i think). There’s a problem with Dattebayo’s company. Something to do with shareholders n stuff!
So, are all the episodes completed, and Dattebayo just dosn’t have it translated? Or, is it not even out at ALL to the public? BTW, is what Dattebayo doing even legal? It would seems so, cause uh. 226 episodes and goin strong (or weak =P depending on how you think the series is comming along..I think it’s a snails pace…anywho..yeah..
you cant say the battle is long gaara is kazekage and Deidara is from Aktsuki so he must be a very strong apponent that you can`t beat in 1 episode but only thing thats very annoying is when they post a Episode first is was every week now its every 2 weeks :S:S

Jisuke: What the hell are you talking about? The battle was over in 1.5 chapters in the manga. It’s the fastest battle besides the lame Tenten one.
And I wonder how many idiots are going to be fooled by Dattebayo. How can they put up episode 6 when it’s not even being aired in Japan? They’re just screwing with all the stupid people and judging by some of the above comments…it seems to be working.
alkanphel yeah, i remember the times when i was a total bleach-only anime noob, when i was constantly fooled by DB. sigh…those were the days.. xD
Naruto Shippuden 006 out now on Dattebayo!
Dont be fooled guys, the filename for naruto 6 has a YHBT in it, meaning ‘you have been trolled’. Essentially, this means it is a *FAKE*. Note that episode 6 hasnt even aired in Japan yet, so there is no way of DB subbing it.
They should rename the show Mr Fantastic because then it would match the ridiculous amount of stretching going on. Honestly…I haven’t enjoyed Naruto since the Zabuza Arc. Sure, there were some decent fights and some cool animation sprinkled throughout the series after that point…but it seemed like after the Zabuza Arc they started creating a LOT of melodrama and dragged out fights with WAAAAAAY too long explanations attached. The choreography was also very weak at many points.
Shippuden…I like the new soundtrack for the most part. I was never a fan of the butt rock mixed with japanese instruments because most of that music was excessively simplistic/repeated too often. I also think the animation is improved to some extent but once again…the pacing totally blows. This fight was meant to be quick, not long and drawn out. The directors doing the Naruto anime are once again showing their amateur qualities. I had high hopes for Shippuden but it looks like it’s going to be a huge disappointment, looks like it will follow the DBZ formula of pacing.
The only reason they are stalling so much is because they don’t want to run into the manga.
If the manga story line got to a certain point, and the anime did so too, there would be no Naruto for the next…Well, I donno. Two weeks?
STFU Ambi - Its called 2 years of filler episodes, I don’t think they would be delaying 1 week so the manga can get a little further ahead.
