Naruto ~ Shippuden: Episode 24

Rating: 7/10

Impressions:

This episode covers a little more than one chapter of the manga, though at least Sakura’s fight is still pretty entertaining at this point in time. I guess I would attribute that to her finally going all-out, though the experience is ruined by Kakashi’s and Gai’s groups. As for Kakashi, if he had a plan, why does he not use it much earlier than a few episodes after he begins pursuit or Deidara? And for Gai’s team, is it really necessary to fight with exactly the same moves and techniques when fighting against yourself? Just because they are fighting clones doesn’t mean they are fighting mirrors of themselves.

umm….they arent mirrors of themselves? I thought they were because they said they had all their techniques and items….

What i meant is, if you played a game of chess, would you play the same moves each time? For some convenient reason, they are all using exactly the same moves, which is pretty boring. I was only commenting on how they could have made them fight with different move sets, despite them being the same person in a sense.

in all honesty, this arc would probs be a whole lot better if they devoted a couple of episodes solidly to the sakura fight.

in all honesty, this arc would probs be a whole lot better if they devoted a couple of episodes solidly to the sakura fight. I can’t bring myself to watch a whole episode if it keeps flicking back to what scenes that just waste time. I mean we hardly need to be updated on how kakashi is STILL chasing that guy.
    Honestly.

The next two episode’s are the best of whole shippuden ( plus the first ep).

Wow, I’m surprised this one got such a high score. This was the worst episode of Shippuuden for me. Though yeah, the next two are pretty good, 26 is better than 95% of the pre-filler episodes.

I aggree with Anonymous above, i would have been better if they’d stopped flicking between them and stayed with sakura. However, as tv shows go, im sure they wanted to let us know that the others werent forgotten about.

Danny, youve got a good point there. If you watch some of the earlier naruto episodes I enjoyed how they almost attempt to use thier brains with thier abilities to outwit thier opponent(s). It does seem a bit dumb just to plug away at your standard set of techniques as has become the norm, especially as the opponent is supposedly themselves. However, I see that some of this goodness is back in sakuras fight in these few episodes. They should have just stuck with sakura :)

Wow, this has to have some of the WORST fight scenes yet (and that’s saying something). I honestly hoped that Shippuden would have better fights than the first Naruto series… that it has significantly worse is a big let down (what the heck is the anime company spending all it’s budget on anyway?! It’s not the fight scenes, that’s for sure!).

Just watch the Team Gai fights… slow, clumsy, and frankly boooring. Gai is supposed to be awesome at taijutsu… and he actually looks worse than Naruto did way back when Naruto first became a genin! If this is how fights are going to go for this series, count me out of continuing to watch it.
