I guess the targeted audiences in Japan must like it when something seems complicated but is ACTUALLY NOT. *surprise* They broke the rock. Wow. Even though I already knew it would take a whole episode to break a goddamn rock with their team of two Jounins, multiple chuunins, ninja-granny and Jinchuuriki, it was still saddening to see it play out. Once again, I watched it at double speed so it kinda feels alright. I’m not saying I’m hating Naruto or anything with my low scores either. I’m just expecting a lot more from it. I enjoy the manga quite a bit, but the anime has so far been a let down.

The pacing is waaaay to slow
But I thought the grunting of Gai was pretty funny
So why do you still watch the anime? just read the manga. I have told have you before, use your time and bandwidth batter and watch Kekkaishi. the only thing that I want to see animated in part two is Kyuubi naruto vs orochimarou. and that’s like 50 episodes away in the pace the anime is going now. so if we ever gonna see it, I will download the specific episode. I will not watch crap every week until then.
Naruto Anime is classic audience exploitation. Drag it out as long as possible to keep the ads flowing. Cliffhang as much as possible to keep you coming back. Throw in tons of filler to keep it on the air when you’ve caught up with the Manga.
It’s like they took lessons from Rumiko Takahashi.
Don’t play the game! They’ll keep doing it as long as people keep watching/buying. Spend your time on the gems that excel on their own without relying on marketing tactics to keep you watching. Give me a 13 or 26 episode series any day.
The eighteen episodes could be compressed into six; it’s a waste of the animators’ time and budget
arcanes: I do read the manga. I’m also not wasting bandwidth since my friend gets Naruto for me. And although I can’t say anything about the wasted time, I don’t have enough bandwidth or time to download and watch Kekkaishi from the beginning, so the chances of me picking it up are approximately 0.

To be honest, it almost pains me to download these episodes… I miss the naruto I fell in love with by this meaning the first 40 or so episodes of the first series… I hate to see exactly the same thing that went on with dbz with the spirit bomb formation lasting 3-4 episodes or when a kamehameha took 1 episode for “ka-me” and another for “ha-me-ha”… Trully dissapointing…but after watshing 250+ episodes it’s hard to drop it just like that.
