Impressions:

Apparently there was a new director? Well I certainly couldn’t tell, but if anything, I found this episode to be better than the first four. For some reason, I found the jokes to be much livelier, having more energy in their execution. I loved the MMORPG references too, which as part of Konata’s hobbies, were quite hilarious. The change in setting was also welcome, with the festival scenes that introduced Konata and company in yukatas. Hmm…I wonder if or when there will be a beach/pool/onsen episode…I guess this really only comes to mind since I can imagine how such an episode would be NOT lame with KyoAni behind everything.

I was pretty shocked to finally realise how small and underdeveloped Konata really is compared to her friends. I guess I never really thought about this before. Maybe it was slightly exaggerated this episode, but Konata seriously does look a few years younger. This also makes me wonder about how old Akira is from Lucky Channel. Sure, that isn’t exactly relevant to anything, but it does get me thinking about animation and age. For example, would you believe a loli-looking girl like her was actually, say, twenty? I’m not getting at anything serious here though, I just find this to be largely hilarious. xD

Kona-chan is so awesome, sadly enough I stay up late at night and avoid homework in similar ways she does, *goes back to playing computer games even though it’s past 12*

By the way… Is anyone else totally in love with the opening. I mean, I usually watch the opening for the first episode and skip it from episode 2 until a new one comes along. In Lucky Star’s case I can’t gather the strength to go straight to the episode without watching the girls get down with it.

leonardo: yeah, I’m in love with it too xD. Ive watched it at 1/2 speed and 2x speed just for kicks, not to mention synchronising it with various youtube ops using the same song xD.
