Impressions:

Well, I wasn’t overly impressed with this first episode, though it was quite fun to watch. I’m not sure I want to blog this show or not either. I would have preferred it to be a simple school life/shoujo/romance type, but after about 15 minutes its thrown in the most whacked up combination of genres, really. There’s a lot of mecha, fantasy and mahou shoujo, not to mention a flying horse, a supposed Prince-like figure who does not know the appropriate ways of treating a girl in public, a freaking loli neko vampire villain who has way too much hair, too much glittery junk and falling petals, a lead girl who doesn’t know she should replace her clothes if they are ever ripped off in public instead of running all the way to the roof before doing so, as well as a school which has a completely screwed up order of power (the teacher got owned by the student council or whatever they are). Wow, that’s some strange list, though I’m not exactly bashing this show. Firstly though, why the hell isn’t the flying horse a unicorn? Lol man that’s just not right! But otherwise, despite the horrendous and distasteful mixture of crazy notions, it’s an enjoyable watch, and that’s all that matters.

I need to give it one more episode to decide whether to blog it or not though. Let’s hope it doesn’t take a plunge in terms of quality. The music and OP/ED are fairly good, suiting the shoujo/fantasy genre quite well. Quality-wise, the show is rather high, and the character designs are quite appealing as well. The bishounen aren’t too exaggerated either, which is good. I usually can’t stand shoujo stuff where all the guys are princess with long hair and huge eyelashes. But then again, it still depends on the overall style of drawing; for example, Ouran had an awesome character design style. Story wise though, this first episode is quite eventful, but not very appealing. I don’t like the mechas at all; I wish the battles that take place would just be standard mahou shoujo spell casting and whatnot. Not that I especially like that genre, but I prefer my mecha where people pilot them from inside, instead of materialising them with magic or whatever. Despite this, the action was rather well done. I guess it’s rather daunting how I have no clue as to what the hell happened in the entire episode, but then again, I guess I’m not meant to yet. And yay, new characters are gonna be introduced next time. I always love shows with many characters.

Short Summary:

Ok here goes my attempt to illustrate the details of this random and hectic first episode. Kuu, the female lead, a girl in er…university(?), who often has dreams about her ideal prince. Of course, the guy is handsome, charming and flashy, who reaches out to her and tells her to ‘Go with him together’. And what happens next? The guy from her dreams shows up as a transfer student in school. He also has special ESP abili- I mean, he also has special pimping abilities, as he is able to attract a crowd of eager and perhaps desperate girls to encircle him as soon as he starts playing the violin.

Of course, all this time, Kuu is thinking about what his appearance means, as he looks exactly the same as the guy from her dreams. And then the unthinkable happens! The guy, who is later revealed as Kyoshiro, takes notice of Kuu, walks up to her and rips open her shirt. Yeah, I would have been WTFing if I hadn’t already seen the numerous bra-shots of Kuu circling the internet already. Well, it seems Kuu has some glowing thing in her chest, which is probably some indicator that she is the ‘chosen one’ or something like that, which is apparent in all fantasy shows.

Anyway though, Kyoshiro leans forward and it looks like he’s going straight for her breasts, before she pushes him away and runs up to the roof. And for some reason, she doesn’t fix up her shirt until she reaches the top, and she must’ve passed a lot of people on the way. Kuu then notices a beautiful girl on the roof, but she disappears when some wind blows and conveniently forces her to look away. A while later, after collecting her thoughts, she decides to confront Kyoshiro after school, but finds him making out with the beautiful girl from before. Kuu runs away in tears, but sees her best friend get attacked by the loli neko-girl vampire.

The loli then attacks Kuu, but upon getting too close realises she is not a normal human. Even so, she proceeds to er…kiss her and suck her blood(?) before the beautiful girl from before saves her. She, known as Setsuna, summons her not-so-big mecha and starts fighting with the loli neko-girl, who also summons her mecha. After a series of exchanges, the building starts to collapse, causing Kuu to fall down with the crumbling floor. Of course, Kyoshiro saves her with his flying horse. In the end, the neko girl is defeated, and Kyoshiro kisses Kuu for reasons not yet revealed.

I have no idea why, much like Kannaduki, but this series seems like winnage to me. It looks to be a little too random and supremely cheesy, but I’ll definitely be blogging it.

so..hum…my wild guess is that the horse name is Fuun Saiki
    :P
anyway this doesnt look Yuri like Kannad/zuki no miko…on the contrary…the girl look like FYG (expect they are not fat…and..hum..kyoshiro is not Yaoi ( or is he ? ) ) in front of Kyoshiro

    hum..i foresee a threesome ending !

I couldn’t agree more with all the messed up stuff happening in the middle. At points your just “what is going on anymore” one minute there is a giant mech, next vampire cat girl. Though it did leave a lot to be answered so I’m sticking with it and going to blog it for a while at least.

There was waaaay too much going on a the same time for, and the pacing wasn’t quite right. However, I was able to overlook all that because my curiosity kept me going. I’m not sure where this anime is trying to lead us, but I have a nagging feeling they’re trying pull the ol’ ‘threesome’ act on us, where all three share feelings for each other or something. Hopefully not, as I’d preffer it to be a distinctive pairing, but it doesn’t seem like the blond is going to leave Kuu and Kyoshiro anytime soon. And WTF is with this guy kissing everyone?

Ho-hum. I just like my pairings to be nice and clear from the beginning to know what to expect; I’m not very good with anxiety. ^^

lol I guess a lot of people are agreeing that the show was a bit hectic. I still dunno whether to follow this, even though it does seem quite fun. I’ll have to see the next episode first. The pacing should probably even out a little soon after the intros are done.
