The original Kanon was immensely popular … no, that’s just a wild guess. Anyway, I haven’t seen the first one so I have no idea what anything is about. For some information on the story, I suggest you have a look at ANN or something. It’s meant to be a remake of the 2002 version, which means the plot is meant to be the same, right? Well how come it’s 24 episodes now, as opposed to the original 13? Is the story going to be continued in the extra 11 episodes, or is the original plot just going to be stretched? Whatever the case, it doesn’t matter now. Currently, I am very intrigued about Kanon as first, it the studio is Kyoto, which is known for producing some popular titles such as Full Metal Panic: TSR, Air and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. After watching the prelude/trailer or whatever it is, I can say it looks a lot like Air, and that’s a good thing as I like that series. By the way the prelude was present; I’d say that the series will have its happy moments as well as its extremely sorrowful and dramatic parts. It’ll have tears of joy as well as anguish. There will be love, relationships and everything associated with that. And so on… Well, that’s just the impression it gave me. I will definitely check this Anime out; it’s my top priority as of now for the autumn season (because I don’t know any other series coming out then) and I am quite confident I will enjoy it greatly.
Things to note:
· Produced by Kyoto Animation, responsible for the popular Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Air, Full Metal Panic: TSR, and others.
· The original Kanon (2002) is 13 episodes long with an extra episode after the series finished.
· The first episode will air on the 5th of October (this year of course) on Thursday.
· The voice actors should be the same as the ones from Kanon (2002) with a few exceptions (I think).
· The male lead is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, who also did Kyon from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu and Mayama from Honey and Clover.

The show is based originally on a bishoujo game from Key/Visual Arts (who also made Air, probably why it reminds you of it), and the original series only took the bare minimum of scenes from the game to make the show. So they left a LOT out of the show, and this remake is going to have a lot more of the stuff from the game, albeit i still doubt that it will have ALL of it. But a lot more atleast, and thusly, its much longer. Im really excited cuz im hoping they animate some more of my favorite scenes from the game; which it looks like they are. Yay! And more Akiko = win.
awesome! glad to hear that
It’s going to be the number one fall anime (in my book anyway) and no it wasn’t really all too popular but oh well it’s still going to be a very touching and beautiful series from what I see. I just hope they don’t stretch out he whole demon fighting arc it was the least appealing except for the touching ending.
[...] And also, the entry I did on the prelude is here. [...]
