Impressions:

It looks like the last episode of this arc will be episode 13, meaning there are still three more episodes for things to wrap up. Like most people I guess, I’m anticipating quite a bit of carnage in the near future, which might be triggered by the scenes we see in the preview of the next episode…(or the arc might end completely different to what I am imagining now). It seems that Satoko will indeed be freed from her uncle, but not without some more pain and suffering. On the other hand, the preview also shows some interesting scenes regarding Takano, Tomitake and Irie—seems like Takano is starting to make her move.

Seeing Oryou again after such a long time made me remember how annoying she is, and I was seriously expecting some sort of struggle when Keiichi tries to mouth his way to success, during his little meeting with her. Keiichi saying he’ll practically kill Oryou if she fails to obey him shouldn’t have surprised me, with the numerous times Keiichi has gone crazy, though it did. Probably because this arc has been so ‘good’, such actions never really occurred to me. What’s even more surprising is how Keiichi suddenly gains Oryou’s favour after such an act. This all just makes it even more unbelievable that such a world is probably going to break apart soon.

This entire arc has been about Hinamizawa hating Satoko, and also about how Satoko’s friends are slowly able to rally the village to defend her. It pretty much symbolises the initial lack of trust, which causes the downfall of everyone, to the eventual gain in faith amongst the villagers, which as it’s being shown now, is causing Satoko to be freed. However, I guess it’s impossible for such a miracle to occur so easily. I’m thinking that things are already too late, though this world will serve to be a very valuable lesson for Rika and her friends. For the moment though, I’m kind of missing the blood and guts…xD
