Hayate the Combat Butler: Episode 3

Rating: 9.2/10
Impressions:
Hayate no Gotoku is certainly getting better. There are a lot of good jokes this episode, and I love the abundance of censoring of words such as Freeza and Sony. Hayate no Gotoku loves to make a joke out of just about anything popular, and it’s highly amusing to watch. However, the best part is when Tama starts talking. I knew it would happen, having read the first few volumes of the manga, but it’s the crazily clear voice that made me crack up. You would expect some deep, gruff voice coming from a tiger, but Hayate no Gotoku is full of nicely executed surprises!
The next episode seems to be about school, which means a lot of the manga was skipped. Whether the anime will get back to it or not, I have no clue. It does mean though, that if the anime continues to progress forward through the manga at this speed, it will quickly get to a point where I have not read the relative part in the manga. That’s definitely a good thing, as it means I will enjoy the anime a lot more. Anyway, I can’t wait to see the new characters next episode and hear them speak. I still haven’t really gotten accustomed to Maria’s womanly voice yet, but I’m getting there…

talking cat (tiger) is obvious allusion to SM’s Luna…
