Gundam 00: Episode 25 (END)

Rating: 8.5/10

Overall Series Rating: 8.8/10

Impressions:

To me, Gundam 00 never had a nice flow to it. It’s hard to find shows that actually do, and because of that, I can say that Gundam 00 is already quite the enjoyable anime. This episode ties everything up quite nicely, before throwing out heaps of new leads with the four years later aftermath/interlude. Because of that, I’m anticipating the next season a lot more than I would have if the show simply ended. I love how they decided to make a mess of everything (in a good way), by doing things like putting Louise in the same place as Tieria, or showing how Marie is actually an important person to Allelujah.

Apart from that though, the emergence of an even greater evil was quite expected. They ended up making Allejandro look like quite the unaccomplished fool’s villain, with his reckless last attack and ‘exploding’ timely demise. They also decided to make Setsuna look like the saviour of everything, but ultimately, he’s still just the average pilot (which is greatly disappointing). I doubt he’s actually dead anyway, so he’s probably going to come back and become the star of everything next time. What intrigues me more is what CB have been doing for the four years after the demise of the Gundams.

In regards to the union of the world as shown in the last few scenes, I really still don’t think anything has worked. Sure, they are united as a military force, but chances are there’s still heaps of racism, and certain people not accepting certain other people etc. It’s hard to imagine that a fully united country would ever occur anyway. Relating to this, has CB’s objective been accomplished? Most likely no, so we’ll have to see what they do about everything now. There are also heaps of questions flashing in my mind about the new developments of CB’s arsenal of Gundams (and pilots).

    In the 4 year preview, it proves that Obama is gonna be the president. >.>*cough*

    Anyway, joke aside; It’s quite nice, after the series of character killings in the past 2 episodes and makes us wanna know who’s gonna replace em, and why. The possibility of Setsuna alive might be 4:5, In the end, it’s good anime. Not stereotipical(I don’t think this is the correct word or spelling). Not cliche(same word?) and it’s fresh, not out of the water fresh, just nicely fresh.

    kay since i’m starting to not making sense, I’m just gonna end this reply.

    lul

    Anybody else notice the striking resemblance between the Earth Federation mobile suits and the Knightmares in Geass?

    I dont think thats Louise standing with tieria at the end. I could be wrong but she definitely doesn’t look the same to me.

    Also I liked the ending, but with all the supposed character deaths that happened it might not feel like the same anime again. Although they could just bring everyone back like nothing happened, which im not sure would please me either.

    I quite liked the new GN-X’s. The Lance remind me of Brita… I mean, the Crossbone Vanguard.

    Ugh am I the only one who thinks the ending was bad? They ruined Graham (gay for gundam!), threw all attempts at politics out the window and replaced it with UNION OF EARTH LOLOLOL?!?! Then instead of putting any closure they heap tons of new crap in the last episode to cover for the fact they can’t think of a good ending. We FINALLY know why it’s called gundam 00 and it’s the last ep of the 1st season -_-;

    this is my first gundam series that ive watched, and i thought it was quite good.
    Random question: how does this gundam series stack up against the other gundam series?

    Er, no its not, the girl standing with tiera, is blonde, not Nena, unless your talking about some other throne chick, but I dont remember any other female characters being with them.

    The ending felt sort of rushed to me,I mean Setsuna should of met his end with Ale in his pimp mobile Alvatore.Not with Graham and his obsession with a machine(Friggin weaboo)Graham gets a mask because god knows Sunrise can’t make a Gundam series without a blonde haired guy in a mask.

    the girl standing behind tieria was definitely louise…
    check out her “X” hairpin…

    my opinions(tho it might not matter):
    alvatore’s design is like one of the worst i’ve seen in most gundam series(except Turn A) for its creativity in design…
    the gold doesnt cover its resemblance to the MA of Earth Alliance in GSD with its pinchers, and the 2nd look of it in MS form looks something like a kid would draw(which somehow showed how fast it would be destroyed).

    ok, that aside.. it has a good storyline despite not having real plots behind it.. destroy the world and create a new world doesnt seem like a plot to me, lol.. a lot of interesting parts to look for in season2 would be like why is ali al sarges still alive, how did louise ended up with CB, will 00 actually be Exia, and which blonde will they pick to be made a lunatic this time(sunrise always has one).

    @frog212: comparing this to the previous 2 made by sunrise that was GS & GSD(more proper as the time made wasnt too far off) i’d say that despite having differences in the timeline(GS & GSD in cosmic era, this one in common era) & plot; there are a few similarities. the main character always mumbles about something, how all their family members are dead, how there’s always a masked blonde(as said before me) & always someone messing in the background.

    oh, and the main characters in this series actually do die. like lockon, which proved vital to how the entire story shifted in the end.

    my last words for now after seeing the ending would be: ALL HAIL CAPTAIN’S KISS! (graham would love it, and excuse that geass prank) XP

    namewa is absolutely right-that was unmistakably louise..go and check the early episodes.

    Plus, was the person slamming down the drink at the end the guy who killed lockon’s parents? Prooooobably not but he bears resemblance to him and the guy who’s trying to score the female captain.

    ”Sunrise can’t make a Gundam series without a blonde haired guy in a mask.”-lmao so true

    tbh, i liked the ending, it gets me more excited to watch the next season, but i still the overall anime coulda been better… gundam seed / destiny is still my fav outa all the gundams, they need to show more louise next season!!!!

    haha i just finished the series and all i have 2 say is wtf why is gundam 0 the fucking rx-78 (the original gundam) i mean that doesn’t make any sense to me because exia virtue etc. all seem more advance/stronger than the rx-78 which makes no sense seeing as the precede the rx-78 so wtf just venting

    @j0k3r:
    If you wanna complain about that, go watch Gundam Seed. And remember, 00 is in a different timeline/universe/whatever. In 00’s timeline there’s no RX-78, hell the first Gundam ever made was Gundam 0. Which looks like RX-78.

    and again, if you say that’s a rip off, then you should blame Seed for being a rip off too.

    I doubt you ever read this though lol.

    @DotAzam:
    SEED is still a good and acceptable series. SEED Destiny is the one which is a rip off.

    @AdamJ:

    For some people Seed is nice. Me? I detest it.

    -The artwork/character design is a turn off for me
    -The colouring is kinda off.
    -Okay Kira is godmode?
    -Power level is over 9000.

    I don’t really critic about character designs, as long as the storyline is fine, but when the storyline fails I usually TRY to endure it because of the character design.(which i use for reference for drawing ^_^)

    And I did watch Gundam Seed from from the start till the end AND Seed Destiny because my friend always watch em, which, usually drags me in.

    Yes Gundam 00 does have some of the godmode and power level, but not to so much extent like Seed.

    Destiny: At first I kinda “liked” Shinn’s design but in the end he screams WAYYY too loudly and too much. And he’s Kira incarnate. (not a good thing)

    Bah, this is just my point of view. >_>
