Impressions:

Finally, Setsuna gets the spotlight (though unfortunately not through his own prowess, but some function in the Gundams). It’s quite surprising that the Trinity siblings have been wiped out almost completely so shortly, as I had expected them to play a larger part in the overall plot. With the turn of events now, it doesn’t look like Nena is going to be representing the Thrones anymore, and I can see her either dying in an act of revenge, or siding with Setsuna and becoming more or less ‘good’. We’ll have to see though, and I wonder how this first season is going to end (obviously, it has to be pretty big).

Im thinking Nena will end up joining the “good” team for revenge and what not at some point, mostly based on the fact that she is quite popular with screentime and what not.

And my personal hopes as i love the crazy as heck side to her.

rarely have I seen an anime where a character has done something so hateable like nena has, and been allowed to join the good side. Most people are going to hate her character for what she did to louise, so I highly doubt shes going to turn good.

It is actually a very common theme in anime for a villain to change their ways and seek redemption. Nena is evil and a villain because she was raised to do one thing, pilot one of the Trinity mobile suits. She was not taught morality, she never learned to empathize with others. She was taught to mercilessly crush anything and anyone that gets in her way.

I would like to see her die for what she did, but I can also she her running to the Gundam Meisters. It would be interesting to see if she can change, learn to be human. Look what Setsuna did as a child, he killed his own parents. Nena is nothing more that a young child emotionally. Being raised in isolation with her two brothers and spending her entire childhood training has left her with immature emotionally. Don’t be surprised if we see Setsuna take Nena in and he is the one who teachers her how to be human in the 2nd season.

Take into account we now know the Corner Family has been shadowing CB. They stole data on the GN drives and created 2nd rate imitation GN Drives used in the Trinity mobile suits and then sold 50 - 2nd Rate GN drives to the UN.

Corner is the one who created the Trinity siblings. So in doing so he was not worried about whether their training turned them psychotic. He knew he would dispose of them when they served their purpose. They may have been genetically altered in a reckless manner, or like I said before raised without being taught right from wrong. In a way the trinity siblings are pathetic tragic figures.

The trinity siblings only exist as expendable pawns in Alejandro’s plan, and when they finished serving their purpose, they were disposed of.
