Gundam 00: Episode 15

Rating: 7.5/10

Impressions:

We get a lot of action this episode, but yet again no character personalisation. But I won’t complain about it right now, since the plot itself is enough to make for a good watch. It’s interesting to note that Sumeragi already knew about the plan to capture the Gundams, so it’s unlikely that things are NOT going to plan at the moment. She never seems frustrated or upset about the supposed ‘MIA Meisters’, so it would seem like she’s just gone and fooled the world into thinking they’ve succeeded in capturing a few Gundams, then BAM, sends in three one or perhaps more to own all the unexpected Mobile Suits and cocky bastards like Ali.

What worries me is the line which dictates all the Meisters are losing their lives (by Sumeragi IIRC), which seems to indicate she had sent them all on a suicide mission. I personally don’t really care for any of the current cast aside from Setsuna, but as of now, he is quite the useless hindrance in everything, as he doesn’t do jack. He needs to get some serious upgrade, reform his psyche, or participate in some highly significant act that changes everything—things that a normal main-character would do. Well, I wouldn’t mind it if he goes psycho like Hallelujah, as long as he does SOMETHING impressive.

WITHOUT any external information sources, you can see that one of the pilots of the new pilots is a girl (from the preview…I think). But what I do want to tell you is that the VA for this character is Kugimiya Rie…which isn’t a good thing in my opinion. I can definitely foresee a cocky attitude and brattish behaviour, but I would be really pleased if this isn’t the case. What’s interesting is the red GN particles that they emit, as seen in the new OP, and what it means. Personally, it wouldn’t surprise me to see that this new force of Gundams end up being a rival or superior force to the current Meisters, or end up breaking away from CB and doing some reckless thing on their own.

More likey that Sumeragi miscalulated on her plan, she didn’t count on the tri-block powers on assaulting them with missile barrages. And their mission was only for taking out the terrorists attacking the compound not take out the rest of the army. Also take note that it was Allejandro Corner, the Celestial Being observer sent out the thrones not Sumeragi.

Anonymous: so this enforces the idea that they are a rival group eh? i can see that the thrones are more likely going to be somewhat superior to the original at the moment
