Impressions:

Since I don’t like the OP, I never watch through it, but I noticed recently that the animators place a certain amount of significance on the relationship between Setsuna and Marina. Which…I don’t really like, since I’m not too fond of Marina’s character, and any possible relationships that might ensue between them. I had been hoping for a more spunky girl to give Setsuna a new perspective on life, but then again that could still happen. Personally, I’m only really interested in him at the moment, despite his background having been pretty much fully revealed now. I guess it’s more to do with his character and youthfulness/naivety.

Setsuna-centric episodes seem to have ended for now, and we’ll most likely start to focus on the other Gundam Meisters, but this is precisely what Sky Girls did (and ended up failing due to it). Of course, the two aren’t comparable since Gundam obviously utilises relevant situations, and thankfully includes a lot of action as well. However, the focus on individual characters once again fails to tie in the entire cast and present an interesting relationship web. Things become interesting when a lot of smaller events occur at the same time to complicate things, but for now, such is unfortunately absent.

Sometimes I’m surprised the number of people who don’t like the opening. I suppose we all got different tastes. Oh well.

So far, the (main) characters seem to be still quite far apart from each other; as if… they are not so together as a team. Saji & co. still hasn’t been tied into the plot yet. Hopefully they’re actually there for a good reason in the future.

And it’s interesting that despite giving quite a bit of criticism, you still have given this episode quite a high schore.

Q, i was critisizing the series as a whole up to now, but i did like this particular episode

I am really liking how this series is panning out so far considering everyones initial feelings from the start of the series.

I’m surprised that this anime hooked me considering it is a gundam series and I haven’t liked a gundam series since I was a kid (watching Wing and G gundam on cartoon network) I really like the way the series is going and hoping that it will build on the story that has now been established

Marina X setsuna ain’t so bad, the anime in my opinion is better than the other gundam series, this is the only one by far that has caught my most peculiar attention. Though to be quite frank I agree with you this anime is really not giving any information on the characters it’s jumping from here to there. Which is annoying I hope the anime will get better otherwise I’m dropping it.
