Gigantic Formula: Episode 3

Rating: 9/10
Impressions:
The background story is pretty silly in my opinion, but I can’t help but be attracted by the nice quality and interest value of the current plot advancement. The characters are pretty likeable as well (at least there’s no second Gendo Ikari). This episode lacks the explosive mecha action that the previous two episodes had, which would be expected. After a powerful start, there will surely be a period of semi-relaxation where characters are developed slightly, but it will be the plot and background that is mostly explained and continued. So far this is definitely the case, though I hope to see some more action before too long (yeah, the high quality is what gets me).
I mentioned before that the background is silly, mainly because I can’t really imagine something like giant heads demanding to be fought against to actually come true in real life. It is not the type of fiction that is sensible and sane…Ghosts, monsters etc. These kinds of things are quite normal in fantasy and such, but when if it’s not a comedy and we suddenly get talking giraffes and green pigs suddenly crossbreeding to create an ultimate new race…that’s when it gets a bit out of hand and rather crazy. Or even in daily life cases, where for example we get an extremely stupid girl as a main character (eg Kage Kara Mamoru), which is just ludicrous.
The end rating of this show will depend on how the story is taken, as there are plenty of similar mecha anime out there. To differentiate itself, Gigantic Formula needs to make use of its rather stupid background, and use it to create a particularly unique and enjoyable plot and resolution. At the moment though, while only about a quarter of the way into the show (assuming this show is two seasons length), there is really nothing to worry about. For all I care right about now is what happens next, and what further development—emotional, romantic etc—will come from the two main characters.

Heh well the ZOMG IT CAN FLY?! Was a huge change a pace from the usual Strike Freedom going from space to earth in 0.5 minutes. The lack of overpowered Mecha is good, although the character designs are still meh to me I don’t let it bother me much. Giant head demanding to fight eachother is a bit lol but hey that’s anime, otherwise it’s pretty much like G Gundam without the lameness
YEA this episode was slow but hey the plot line is coming along well!!! anywho i have watched episode 4,5,6 and man it just get better!! but I have to say why do they need to beat each other even if one gigantic win what does it matter!?!? another eperternal winter!?!!?
