Impressions:
My initial love of mecha withered away as I saw numerous crap mecha anime, with not enough good ones to make up for it. I ended up automatically dissing mecha anime, assuming it would some retarded game to anime conversion or a half-assed remake of some 80’s show. However, the tables keep turning, and I’m suddenly finding more good mecha than crap ones. Three recent ones include Reideen, Idolmaster and Gigantic Formula. My favourite? Definitely Gigantic Formula. It’s a bit strange, as I was not too fond of the character design at first, but have come to accept it.
I’m not exactly sure what makes Gigantic Formula great; there are some bits were I find completely ridiculous (like how a kid could come to terms with such an enormous power so easily), but overall, so far it’s a masterpiece. I’d like to think this show is pretty popular at the moment, but if you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest you do so. The animation quality is rather high, and the colouring gives a nice sense of realism. Oh and a bit of random opinion, the large pink circles for blushes…they’re weird lol. But the normal red dashes near the end of episode 2 is pretty nice. xD (Yeah, I know I said I wouldn’t be blogging this but…)

The animation is quite different to what I’m used to, from the screens (mainly bottom left) it looks like they used the 3D CG method of animating the mechas I think… Though it looks quite nice I probably won’t be sure if I will watch it until I hear about the plot.

I like the peculiar animation
SO far, it’s a good show in terms of the visuals but lacking in the story part. I like the different style of the show. and I will continue to watch it. mecha fights were awesome!
the Character design bothers me a bit , but i don’t have any other complaints with the show . looks worth it .

Character designs are odd, but they’re fine. You actually see more expressions from the characters designs used in the actual anime than the one they used for the ending. Eh, only if I can follow the raw just 10% more.
I also kinda found the character design kinda qwerky, didn’t know what to expect but after watching the first episodes I think i’ll be watching this one ’till the end. The story has a lot of room for twists and tragedies, two “T’s” I have come to love.
Meh the character desings bother me, but it’s not much worse then Claymore’s. Although I don’t like the characters much the Mech fights seem pretty good. I’ll be following this anime untill the end I think, unless it starts to suck heh. I’ve noticed that all the newer Mech anime’s like Bokurano, Reideen, Gigantic Formula, and ect all seem to use the CG way of animated mechs and they make the mechs seem all slow and clumbersome. Although this is more realstic, I prefer Code Geass’s and Gundam’s way with drawn mechs that fight at X100 realsticly possible speeds. (lol just look at Karen vs Suzuka, those mechs where moving as fast as humans!)
personally i have no problem with the character designs…they’re actually growing on me (but whats with the ED? the character design there is completely different…
I don’t know why they did that, but another animator did the ending so it ended up like that.
Characters remind me of Eureka Seven, in fact the episode have a Eureka Seven feeling on it.

Agreed and whats with this whole I challenge you to a battle but now im getting my ass whipped so I can run away to battle another day crap? If youre gonna challenge someone it better be to the finish.
