D.Gray-man: Episode 37

Rating: 6.5/10

Impressions:

Ah man, just when it looks like things have become interesting, we get a background episode on the soccer guy, and worst of all, I can’t remember seeing him at all in the manga, so I can’t feel any relation towards him. Essentially, this makes him boring (to me), and at the moment I really just want to get going with the main story. It doesn’t matter if it’s not manga-material anymore, since with the anime being pretty original, it would be like experiencing a new D.Gray-man (though I doubt it would turn out to be as good as the manga—come to think of which I haven’t read in a while…)

I stop watching D-gray man since episode 20. Should I, at least, give it a try because the rest of the series doesn’t seem to be as good as the manga.

If you were discontent enough to drop it, probably not, although it does start getting better at this point. But compared with the manga, the anime is nowhere near as good.

Around episode 38 the show takes a turn for the better. I’m at episode 42 and I can’t wait for 43 and I dragged myself through the god so terrible 20-ish and 30-ish episodes. So it improved a lot, I say keep it.
