D.Gray-man: Episode 24

Rating: 9.1/10
Impressions:
It looks like now we’re in to the proper, main storyline, though it seems the anime is not going to follow the manga exactly. They seem to be showing in their own way, by changing the order of the events, and perhaps inserting random filler material like this episode. Although most of this episode involving Komrin IV is filler, it does make it rather funny and progressive as well. I bet the animators had fun coming up with the various new Komrins…perhaps this will become bigger later on as the animators think up new designs xD. However, hopefully during the more serious episode, the anime won’t try to mix in senseless filler humour.

This episode covers two chapters of manga, coupled with extra comedy material. The non-filler parts include Allen and Lavi’s meeting with Tyki Mikk. What doesn’t happen though, is Krory going to HQ and going through the same welcoming process that Allen did. However, the anime did seem to skip out on a few important parts, this time about Linali AGAIN. In the manga storyline, Linali is meant to be on the train to her next mission _with_ Allen and Lavi, but because they get caught up with Krory, they’re a bit behind. The scene left out is of Linali having a dream that’s also in the OP sequence, where she is crying on the destroyed buildings.

Being 52 episodes, it’s surprising how the anime is only up to chapter 42 now. There are 100+ chapters so far, though the manga should be coming to a close soon. The pace needs to be picked up, and I really see no point in the fillers, unless the animators decided to diverge from the manga and make an anime-original ending. I would be fine with that, but anime-original endings usually suck, so I hope it doesn’t happen. Next episode is supposed to be about Kanda again (finally), but it looks like it will be about one of the Exorcist Generals, Yeager, who I really can’t remember in the manga.

I can’t really see the manga ending THAT soon. Maybe in another 100 chapters.
yeager doesn’t have such a role in the manga

another 100 chapters…i guess the anime is bound to have its own ending? D=
Well there’s quite a lot of stuff to clear up despite the fact that they are already fighting the Noahs now. There are supposed to be 13 Noahs but I think we’ve only seen like 5 of them so far? There’s also a deeper mystery behind the Earl and his technology. What seems like magic is probably super-advanced technology, given how he talks about downloading modules from the Noah’s Ark. The Akumas are also quite machine-like in nature. And I think there’s more growth possible for the other Exorcists like Lavi and Kanda. Not to mention we haven’t seen all the other Generals in action, especially Cross Marian.
13 Noahs? Wow…oh by the way, who is the “Unknown Noah”? I see her on the opening of the episodes but does anyone know who she really is?
