Death Note: Episode 27

Impressions:
The pace is still pretty slow, with 2-3 chapters covered this episode only. If this keeps up, a lot of the manga will need to be excluded from the anime. Perhaps the anime plot will go straight to the end somehow, instead of taking a massive detour in terms of story arrangement. This also meant that, from the start, L would not die in the middle of the series, but closer to the end. I will dread the ending of Death Note though, not because I will be sad to see it finish, but devastated at the shocking ending, which in my opinion is the worst part of Death Note (you’ll see why if you understand my preference of characters in the show).
When it comes down to L, Near or Mello, I definitely like L best. Near comes second, but only because Mello is too aggravated at times, and acts rashly. I don’t like Near especially much though, as he looks far too childish. It would be more balanced if the two new L replacements are actually Light’s age (early 20’s I believe). It would be even better if one of them was actually a girl. The problem with Death Note is the lack of important female characters in my opinion. I guess the mangaka decided to go this way as opposed to take up the opportunity of making Misa intelligent and significant.

Wow Mello looks even more retarded in the anime, I couldn’t recognize him for a second. The ending in my humble opinion, Sucked Ass. God damn I can’t beileve what the mangaka did! Frikken… I’d complain and rate more but I don’t want to give out spoilers. I shoulda stoped when L died and pretended it ended there or something hahaha

Not a bad episode, although, me being a huge L fan, I find that the series has lost most of its interest.
Although, I find that the fact that lots of people stopped watching simply because (we all know it by now, so I don’t see the need for spoilers) L dies, means that the creators did a really good job of creating the characters!
I like to see the contrast between the English and Japanese voice actors, so I’m looking forward to hearing the American Near’s voice.
As I said, I’m an L fan, so I’m mainly watching the rest of the series because I’m also a Near fan, and I want to see how Show Spoiler ▼

I’m sure that if I haven’t read the manga and I watched this episode without sound, I’d think that Mello was a girl.For sure.
