Impressions:
I really love the new OP and ED. Although I don’t really like the song much, I find that this type of heavy metal fused with the kickass new animations really suit the show. The contrasting colours and stylish use of this otherwise common animation style really brings out the highlights of the show. The only bad thing is that it makes Misa look a lot more important than she really is. If only Misa was smart and acted as a third party…but speaking of third parties, Mello and Near finally show up! (In the OP I mean). I was always expecting the show to include that arc, though still they really need to pick up the pace to fit everything in.
About what’s boring, I’d say I got less interested in this arc than the others as Light is no longer Kira. However, it all seems the same in the anime since I’ve read it all and there are no surprises. Death Note has become really big, though having read the manga destroys the experience completely. Death Note is about the story, so anime and manga are similar (unlike shounen shows such as Bleach). Another thing I want to mention, L talks about if he should die, Light can succeed him. Hmm, is this some kind of hint to the rest of the story? Or perhaps he’s hinting the exact opposite? (eg, L kills Light o_o).

Eh, I didn’t like the OP that much. I’m not really a fan of metal (or at least that type of metal) but the scenes in the op sequence were verrry awesome.
Especially, the ones with Misa.
K the scences where nice but the music was MEH I’m not a fan of heavy metal and the music was wayyy to diffrent from the orginal ops which I liked alot. Kind of like Code gease going from colors to that wierd screeching song (no offence to anyone who likes it x.x)
Leon: yeah, misa FTW! though unfortunately shes not very impressive in the actual show
Flamestrike: like i said, i dont like the music either, though i think it fits the animation and show very well
Everyone is always tripping about Light no longer being Kira. Am I the only one who loves non-Kira Light? xDD I thought the recent two episodes were great in the Yotsuba arc.
I loved the new animation, but am not fond of the new OP. I feel like the ED might grow on me.

Nightmare’s songs fits better though. (Maybe used to it?)
Oh yes. Doesn’t Namikawa-Reji look abit like Kuchiki Byakuya in Bleach? Lol.
