Death Note: Episode 16

Ahh, so Light’s time as Kira is finally over. This marks the second last episode of the series, and the show will wrap up next episode. It has been an enjoyable watch, but I guess now it’s time to move on to another series. Oh wait, what the hell am I talking about? xD There’s still like 20 episodes to go, so rest assured, Death Note will continue radiating awesomeness until the very end! This episode once again covers 2 chapters, but that should soon change as some of the upcoming events are more action packed. I’m especially looking for the big surprise next episode (trust me; you will be WTFing until the truth is revealed next episode, as I was)!

It’s really amazing to see how different Light is when he loses all memories of being Kira. He’s like 100% good now, and a normal teenager at that. No wonder L is like doubting everything he’s been concluding so far. It would really screw him up, and that is the genius behind Light’s plan. But now you guys will have to wait and see how giving up the Death Note will actually help Light create his utopia. |

Seeing the difference between the good Light and Light as Kira is pretty shocking. It goes to show that no matter how good, how young or how innocent someone is, the Death Note corrupts. As you will see in future episodes, many things will come up to support this claim that if L receives the Death Note, he may well become Light. L and Light are just too much the same, in both good and bad ways. |

For those that don’t read the manga or do not now what is about to happen, this episode must have been a real eye-opener. Even I was excited through the entire episode, when I’ve know it was going to happen since the very beginning. The twist is just brilliant, and there will be more of that to come definitely. But for now, people will still be dwelling over this problem of how beneficial this act really is to Light. |

Misa is quite surprisingly calm this episode. In the manga, she is meant to be crying and desperate at first, but then slowly regain composure and become accustomed to have her life in the hands of someone she doesn’t know, or can’t even see for that matter. I think the episode neglected to show the change, but it’s really only of little importance. Just being able to show how much Light has changed is enough. |

It’s interesting to see how the events have turned out, with three people imprisoned; Misa, Light and Yagami. The two Kira suspects both display highly convincing appeals that they are not Kira. This complex set up really makes you think, and only L can keep his cool in such a difficult situation. It’s also amusing to see how, even though L is in control by having everyone confined, he is the one who is actually losing. |

Minor spoilers in this paragraph, and ONLY this paragraph! The next episode is titled Execution, which should raise some eyebrows immediately. Yes, this is the event I’m talking about, but I’m afraid I may have already ruined the surprise. Oh well shoot me. But anyway, I will be really looking forward to the bonding after this incident. I’m not sure why but I always crack up when I read those particular chapters. |

Yep, the future few episodes should mark the first climax of Death Note. I would be more enthusiastic about this, but unfortunately I’ve already read the manga and know exactly what’s going to happen… Death Note’s enjoyment drops about 40% when all the surprises are removed >_>
Oh, dude, you almost gave me a heart attack when you said the series would end next episode xD Though I can’t imagine this going for another 20 episodes, either xDD Can’t wait to see it ^^
And though it was minor, I would’ve liked to see Misa cry. I thought she was acting too composed about her situation.
wow , they are already there .
so that means the whole serie might fit in the 37 planned episodes .
the nice Light is just way too funny . it’s interesting to see how the Death Note corrupted him .
triplea: i find that death note’s enjoyment drops a lot more than 40%…there were a few episodes i just didnt want to watch at all…
whispered.hope: yeah, death note constantly changes, so its not like its going to be about this one thing for over 10 episodes. its what makes it so great!
kurotsuki: im stil worried about all of it fitting in 37 episodes, as the anime is still converting only two chapters to one episode, which they need to change soon.
