Death Note: Episode 13

Impressions:
Even though Death Note continues to dish out new and interesting stuff, I can’t help but feel bored. I mean, none of this is surprising of course, and the problem with reading the manga is that, it’s really good when you read it, but it makes the anime shit. Anyway though, I’m glad this episode has been subbed, by more groups that usual actually. The problem is now that Misa has submitted herself to Light, all the excitement that radiates from her has vanished. This show would be so much better if she remained secretive and worked as a third party. Still, I can’t deny how excited I was when I saw her show up at Light’s house in the manga. In the manga, she actually tells Light that she’s content with him using her, but she doesn’t say this in the anime (I don’t think). It’s still quite disappointing that Light never takes the ‘using’ part the other way and bed her. For some reason he just has no interest in girls. He must be so engrossed in his goal to create the perfect utopia that he’s completely forgotten about all his natural instincts. Either that or he’s gay for L.
I want to see more of Light and L mind games. That is the very best of Death Note, and the more it strays from that the less interesting it becomes. This is also why it gets very disappointing later on. The quality isn’t exactly helping either; it’s still not as good as it used to be. Also, even though the story is highly diverse, the premise remains constant. Although this is fine for many shows, the premises must be interesting and engaging to begin with. Personally, I don’t think that the premise of Death Note is expanded enough. Before, when L had the police and FBI at his command, he seemed much more competent. In that case, it would be L and the rest of the world versus Light and his supernatural gift. THAT would be interesting and highly entertaining. While the current Death Note is still good, it has shrunk a lot. There are only a few important charaters, and the setting for episodes are localised to basically either Light’s house or L’s hotel. But if you’re worried about this, rest assured; those who haven’t read the manga will still immensely enjoy this series.

I love the anime for the intelligence factor. The death note movie unfortunately took most of it out, turning Light into someone more evil than intelligent.

and yeah, intelligence is the key here, but right now there’s not much of that going around
I was afraid after Death Note was licensed nobody would sub it anymore.

It was funny to watch this episodes even after we read 2 chapters further. Really interesting:) And the animation was almost perfect. I hope they don’t drop the quality next episode since episode 12 was so poorly drawn i don’t have the nerve to rewatch it.

Is there going to be a new deathnote? My friend and i have concluded that there is going to be a new one with a new Kira, but with the way Mello put it in the bb muder case book there is two more people like near and mello. Witch brings to my hypothesis that the these two new people will either join forces with near or do exactly what near and mello did in fighting for number 1, but they will fight this new Kira. And again i would like your hypothesis on if there will be a new Death Note series or not
