Darker than BLACK: Episode 4

Impressions:
Well that was an interesting turn out to the school girl + mystery scientist dude story. So the scientist is actually the girl’s dad and used some weird seed thing to suppress her powers. However, when the seed wears out, the girl becomes a doll, before finally reverting back to a contractor at the end. I would certainly like to see her again, perhaps next time in action alongside Li. Her explosive fire power is pretty cool; something which I think would be fun to see if she is ever surrounded by a large group of enemies. But it should be some time before anything like that happens, as the show is running on a strict two episodes per story format.
It’s kind of pitiful watching the girl (Mei was it?) go through everything she does in this episode. She is a depressed high school girl with a painfully absent father, who she just wants some attention from. However, when she starts losing control of her powers, she even kills her own friend (including the friend’s father). The terror must be quite hideous in such a situation. I guess there was no chance of this ending nicely, although at least Mei doesn’t turn into a doll, and retains her humanity with being a contractor…I think. I’m still not really sure how dolls and contractors are all tied together with the rest of the world. I guess I can only keep watching to find out more.

The girl’s name is Mai, not Mei. And I hope when they said she’d get sent to “heaven”, she didn’t get brainwashed or sth…
she gets probably recruited by Li’s superiors and trained to be killer… not very promising future, but better than mindless monster incinerating everyone around until hunted down
this show is really dark in the mood…
Quite tragic really, wonder if its going to be like this through out the series
