Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 22

Rating: 9.7/10 WTFness: 10/10

Impressions:

This episode is just a big OMFG episode that does not cease to depress, frustrate and bewilder me. I can not believe what the hell just happened, and although from an objective point of view, the plot twist is very well orientated, I highly disapprove of the events that occur in this episode. They are just unacceptably horrid. I have grown to liking the idea of Eupphie and Lelouch working together so much in the past few episodes, that due to this sudden earthquake in Geass’s plotline, I have no idea what to think. I believe it would be best to hold back any conscious thought for now until the end of the series in a few episodes time…

Depending on your preferences in terms of character, this episode could make your day or ruin it completely, crushing every single piece of happiness in your life down into the depths of the earth, never to be surfaced again…ok, I went too far with that one, but no doubt this episode has made me so goddamn miserable I can’t comprehend it. It looks like Euppie probably has to die now. This is partly what makes me so sad. The other is knowing how Lelouch and Eupphemia probably can’t return to being family anymore. The prospect was so appeasing. I was so happy when the two agreed to work together, then when Eupphie went berserk…omfg I can’t take this.

With only how many episodes to go(?), can they really wrap everything up enough in order to make it look remotely like an ending before the second season, which will come some time later? Quite a lot of mysterious things happen this episode, distinctly different from the other WTF moments. Most of this I don’t get anyway. So Suzaku can see green people now? And why did he flashback/envision Marianne when he touched C.C.? And who is that other girl that seems to be related to the Geass as well? Regardless of me being so depressed, I have to commend Code Geass on such an awesome storyline, filled with the many other hooks and twists.

So many questions…a main one being, how will things turn out now? Eupphie, having personally killed the number of Japanese people that she has, must either die or get relieved of her crimes. Maybe, just maybe, something incredible will happen to lift her charges, so she doesn’t have to die anymore! Suzaku has to be involved somehow, and it would be terribly ironic and sad if he’s the one that ends up killing Eupphemia. Both their Geass orders conflict, but it doesn’t meant Suzaku has to kill Eupphie. However, what will happen to Lelouch now, after all the terror that he has wrought. How will he continue living with his Geass power going out of control?

There is still Shirley, Viletta and Orange-kun to complicate things. Also, how many more of Lelouch’s siblings will appear? The emperor himself seems to be a bigger mastermind behind everything than I thought, and it seems like his sons and daughters are just playthings for his war game (a better analogy could be pawns on a chess board, but that is used way too often…) Anyway, I can’t wait to see the next episode, and I know I am going to miss Code Geass so much when this season ends. I wish it would just continue airing for the second season. With Kanon finished, this is definitely my current second favourite anime (to Bleach). Tokyo Majin is probably third.

    Same here… o_O
    >why did they have to make her a bad guy now?
She was too Lacusish :). But I think they overdid a little…
So, will they kill her, or..? I know, Sunrise likes killing girls just for fun (that’s why i hate them so :) ), but is not it to early?.. they usually do it at after 30-35 episodes…

hmmm, the titel of this episode was somehow thrilling: the bloodstained princess…
but how it actually turned out to be more of a real bloodshed than just a stain, wait, its more likely to be called amassacre - WTFness:11/10

This was definitely the most depressing episode ever. I don’t even think I can watch it a second time after seeing what happened.

When I saw the title, I thought Euphie was going to die this episode but I read somewhere online that someone felt that the title implied she was going to kill someone…little did we all know she was going to kill that many.

I think she probably is going to die before this season ends, and probably at the hands of Suzaku Show Spoiler ▼

since they have those conflicting Geass orders.

If she doesn’t die this season, I have a feeling she’ll become the main villain in season 2 or something.

But this episode has cemented Code Geass to be the best anime I’ve seen this season.

Maybe Lelouch’s mother has something to do with the Geass…? -blinku- I really don’t like his father. Was he referring to Lelouch when he said the idiot finally did it? Would that mean he knows about the Geass?

MOU, things could’ve been SO nice if the Geass didn’t act up. Lelouch can’t be around people now, can he? Wearing something over his eyes would bring him more attention.

With a storyline like this, I can’t believe Code Geass is so underrated. More people need to watch this.

Wow wtfness is off the charts. I’m not going to judge and say it was a bad ep but… I didn’t particularly like Euphie and when she and Lulu agreed to work togheter I was like yay. But then …. yeah I guess Lulu’s going to need to keep that helm on at all times incase he acidently kills someone lol, or he could band-aid his eye.

I knew something was wrong when he almost ordered that noble to kill himself. Tch I guess it’s best that Euphie dies, if she doesn’t and comes back alive she’ll be so mentaly messed up she’ll kill herself. It’s the only way really. Meh I thought Lulu was kind of like Light but you can tell how diffrent they really are, if it was Kira he’d have ordered the massacar on purpose and/or go “oh well we’ll just use this to our advantage lols”

… 3 episodes before this “season” ends.

I kinda conflicted on this, I liked this at the started but at some point it seem to started to drag and running in circles as if the writers lost focus.

This “plot twist” could be interesting but honestly … its just one more thing to drag this “first” season without making any revelations and moving the plot along, quite in line with their “recap” episodes.

I predict the end of this first season will be a cliffhanger without addressing any of the questions we been asking since episode 1.

… What… so I’m the only one who hates Euphie and thinks it would be appropriate for Suzaku to kill her?

I can’t believe you didn’t get a screenshot of Euphie all blood-spattered with a machine gun in her hands. That was the best part! ;P

I was partial to Euphie, but I think it’s way better this way than if Lelouch and Euphie had had such a happily-ever-after ending as I thought they were going to.

Besides, you have to admit that Suzaku and Euphie’s save the world with peace and love and no violence thing was kind of cheeseball and annoying sometimes anyways..

haha…Save the world with love…like that’ll ever happen. the correlation between gundam seed cahracters and code geass are amazing..i mean: Euphie= Lacus + more bimboness and Suzaku= kira+ more self reighteousness and hypocritical(ness?)….argh those two characters are really annoyng…Ones already dead, I would enjoy to see the other die immensely

I mean the plot twist was genius but… jesus christ it shoulda been like some other person besides euphie or suzaku. But i guess in terms of plot there was no other choice huh?
