Then they throw in the old friend of hism who you think is going to be important but they kill him off right off the bat, followed by the girl (though I somehow doubt she's gone for good) and to top it all off they close it off with the hero having a bunch of dudes shoot themselves in the head while he grins like a psycho. Really cool stuff going on! The dark and rebellious tones are great. I have a feeling the girl was ment to be used by the prince to give him some extraordinary control of his citizens, but I don't know if she is human or just a modified human.
