CLANNAD: Episode 3

Rating: 7.7/10
Impressions:
I want to see more of both Tomoyo’s and Nagisa’s pasts, though it looks like the show is focusing on Nagisa’s drama club for now. I wonder if the importance of the drama club comes in the form of the medium from which the story will gather all the main characters into one setting. Any actual performances will probably just be side shows, but I can imagine the kind of relationships that can form if everyone’s working together in the same club. The next episode’s title is about making friends, which I assume will be about Nagisa’s drama club again.
The ‘other world’ sequences are becoming increasingly confusing, probably because its place in the show is growing in significance and apparentness. I’m beginning to think that the toy robot is or represents Tomoyo, while the girl is most likely Nagisa, or has some form of major connection with her, seeing as how Nagisa’s the main girl. The main question though, is what the hell does the entire world means, and how it connects to the current world. I wonder if the other female characters have anything to do with Nagisa as well, as in Kanon, the characters have little connection with each other, which is quite disappointing.
A few unexpected new characters make their first appearance in this episode. There’s one who looks a bit like Tomoyo, who I first suspected to be some kind of relative. The girl who accepts Tomoyo’s free bread is quite mysterious as well. I’m glad there are more characters than simply the school cast, and so far the pacing still seems pretty fast. Speaking of characters, my favourite harem member (actually, it’s not a harem yet) is Kyou. The other characters suffer from the same ‘excessive in extremities’ problem that a lot of anime characters suffer from. That is, they’re personalities are far too impractical. But then again, maybe I just like Kyou’s playfulness.

I like kyou too….he’s got that out of society thing going.
…. he? Kyou is awesome, but I like Tomoyo better. The Girls in Clannad do seem to become more connected unlike in Kanon where they were mostly in their own arcs. The “Other World” sences remind of the Ayu dreams though.
Lol this was an interesting episode, after seeing the counter again and again it was getting stupid many people thought that. Just wait on 4 that made it priceless. Danny I know you’ll love 4, alot of mixed feelings in it but in a good way. You’ll see what I mean when you view.
the faces kyou makes are awesome lol and her pig….!! but tomoyo is so cool! and omg fuka is sooooo cute and nagisa’s too. though sometimes tomoya reminds me of kyon or yuuichi sometimes lol, coz their personalities are somewhat kinda similar… but its allll good =D
burnedalive: i’m guessing that’s a typo right? lol
FlameStrike: Tomoyo’s personality is pretty hilarious, but Kyou comes out on top for me
Jason Isenberg: i think i’ve already seen it lol, but I can’t remember whether I liked it more or not. Need to check it out again xD
Furuba: the bad thing is, you know none of the girls apart from nagisa have any chance. Unless kyoani decides to go renegade on the anime-viewing society
Did you watch the 1st episode in widescreen? o.ô
Seems like you are confusing with Tomoyo and Tomoya again…..well there’s only one letter difference after all if you spell out their names in english.
