Spending New Years Addicted to Pangya…
HAPPY NEW YEAR! (for those of us who are already in 2007, the FUTURE!) And yeah lol, as of yesterday I am now completely and utterly addicted to Pangya, or otherwise known as Albatross18. So basically, don’t be surprised if this blog suddenly dies, or if I randomly go on hiatus. I will try and post something a day but they’ll probably be dull, meaningless and excuses for posts…oh crap why am I belittling my own blog? Anyway, if you are really bored, you should try Pangya out sometime, but if you still value your LIFE, do not play as you will become addicted instantly, and your whole carrier will GO DOWN THE DRAIN! Ok maybe not, I was exaggerating, but you get the point. I would put some pictures of it up here, but my internet is like…dead for the next few hours or so. Oh and for those of you who don’t know, Pangya is an MMO Golf game (in simple terms, an online multiplayer golf game). It may not seem like fun…I mean, it’s just golf, right? Well technically yes, but it’s still so damn addictive, and I don’t know why. I also recommend you select your gender as female when you register if you are a guy in real life. It will be much more fun playing with your female character anyway.
Visit the website for Pangya!

9 commentsBlog Update – Spoiler Tags Fixed
Just a little update on the blog.
1. I have fixed the spoiler tags to allow anyone to use them in the comments section. I had to modify the kses.php file since I don’t know how to use the my-hacks.php thing. Anyway, if you’d like to know how to do it, using you FTP browser, navigate to the ‘wp-includes’ folder, where you’ll find the kses.php. Download that file and open it in whatever text editor you use. Find the section that may look something like this:
'code' => array (),
// 'del' => array('datetime' => array()),
// 'dd' => array(),
// 'dl' => array(),
// 'dt' => array(),
Just below that, add another line like this, assuming you’re using the same spoiler plugin as me, and it should work fine. Oh and by the way, the way you use the spoiler tags can be found here =)
'spoiler' => array (),
2. After that, I thought I should say what’s happening with this blog. There’s been a lot of talk about how new bloggers make the ‘mistake’ of doing per-episode summaries. Well, I highly disagree with the statement that this is a ‘mistake’. I like reading per-episode summaries and I know other people do as well. This has also been addressed in one of the recent AnimeNano podcasts as well. I also suck at writing editorials, and I believe my knowledge on anime and Japanese culture is far to limited to write anything about it, so if you like to call it ‘the easy way out’ or whatever, then so be it.
Also, if you read my blog, you would most likely have noticed I put the majority of my effort into writing impressions on the episodes, instead of summaries. I find them a waste of time, and usually other people have written summaries before me. What people can’t accomplish before me is to illustrate my thoughts on the matter, so I will be sticking with that. If I am busy, I will usually write short impressions, no summary and reduced screenshots. If I am in no hurry, or if I really like the episode, I will write a full entry, with at least 30 screenshots, a decent length impressions and a short plot outline.

20 commentsSite Updates
A few site updates:
- New banner
- New spoiler plugin
- New ‘popular posts’ section
The spoiler plugin works as follows: In a comment, you wrap the spoiler in spoiler tags to make it appear as a spoiler.
So, if you write this: <spoiler>You should not be able to see me!</spoiler>
It will look like this: Show Spoiler ▼
Also, the ‘popular posts’ section is in the sidebar, where the plugin in question analyses each post (number of visits, number of comments, how old it is etc) and gives it a value, then displays the top 10 posts in the sidebar.
Lastly, I got an external hard drive, though that is unrelated to this site. It’s only 250gigs though. If you don’t download much, you’d be thinking that’s plenty, but if you download all your anime and stuff, you’d know that’ll run out before long. And in other news, I converted two casual anime viewing friends into hardcore anime freaks! Ok, I was exaggerating, but now they’re following quite a few of the series I am now as opposed to a few episodes a month.

14 commentsWhoa 50k Visits!
Hey, I’ve reached 50k visits! Never thought that’d happen when I started blogging on MSN Spaces (at that time, I only got about 10 visitors a day!) lol let’s see how long it would’ve taken to get to 50k if it remained as 10 visits a day, shall we?
50,000 / 10 = 5,000
5,000 days = 167 months
167 months = 14 years
That’s 14 years!! Well, MSN Spaces are crap anyway. The only reason I used it was because it could accommodate my desired width of my contents. Anyway, after finding Maestro4k (mid-July was it?), I was finally able to start blogging with a real readership!
Well, as you may or may not already know, I have exams coming up (next week), but they aren’t THAT important. Which means you have a better idea of how old I am, though I still won’t tell you. Don’t ask why. I might be a 6 year old prodigy in English, or I might be a 110 year old living the last days of his life writing about something he’s passionate…Anyway, how bout some stats?

5 commentsAnimeBlogger is getting bigger…
I recently browsed to the AnimeBlogger.net home page and was quite surprised how big the list of blogs have become. I remember when I first visited it around half a year before I joined myself, and the list was pretty small in comparison. Anyway I managed to find 11 new blogs on AB.net, and by new I mean started in September or October. I’m glad to see more blogs popping up for more diverging material and thoughts on anime. Reading the impressions of a range of viewers is quite benefiting, so I hope they all take their blogging a long way and not just stop after a month and never come back…That’s happened a few times – so sad T_T
Anyway, here’s the list. Please visit! Btw, if you have a blog on AB.net which I haven’t mentioned, please feel free to say something in the comments. (Also, please visit Distant Star and VOTE for the language he should blog in!)

23 commentsA few Manga titles…

Hmm…new section: Journal! These posts will usually be very short and randomly describe things about what’s happening with me that would otherwise have to be categorised into the ‘Other’ section.
First thing I’d like to say is Death Note is FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! That said, I strongly recommend you check out the manga if you haven’t done so. Try the Anime as well – can’t guarantee it’ll be as good as the manga though. Another thing, I have recently picked up ‘Mx0′ after a suggestion by Shuffled Thoughts, and I have to say it’s pretty good. The best thing is the drawing style is PERFECT – my ideal style. That’ll change from person to person of course, but it’s good in general anyway. I should write something about both mangas sometime too.
