Gundam 00: Episode 9

Rating: 8/10

Impressions:

So Lockon has a twin brother, Felt is a descendant of Gundam Meisters, and there have been several generations of pilots to date? The latter proves to be most interesting to me, as I’m wondering what previous Meisters would have done before Celestial Being even begins to act. I kind of want to see Felt pilot a Gundam now (maybe she has hidden potential), and I’m beginning to like her more now. However, my favourite female character will most likely be the one who’s paired with Setsuna, IF that ever happens. Dammit, where’s that tsundere ojou-sama to give Setsuna a lesson in the real world and possibly screw up his soldier-orientated mind? xD

Gundam 00: Episode 8

Rating: 7.5/10

Impressions:

Setsuna really is just a kid…sigh. This episode doesn’t do much in his favour. I’m surprised he comes so close to being arrested, though I guess with Celestial Being’s influence, something would have been done about it. I’m surprised Setsuna actually reveals his identity (another factor contributing to why I’m saying he’s still a kid), despite Marina not believing him. This will surely come back to haunt him, but it’s interesting as it complicates matters and now there’s a good chance that Marina will become directly involved with the Gundam Meisters. I don’t mean a romantic relationship though (or at least I hope not, they don’t suit each other at all).

Gundam 00: Episode 7

Rating: 8/10

Impressions:

In terms of action, there is, yet again, plenty in this episode. However, the constant fighting doesn’t really get the show anywhere, and neither is it building up to anything great (the classic henchmen-miniboss-boss lineup, or the each-battle-leads-to-a-plot-advance method, etc). Right now, Celestial Being is simply instigating world crises and terror through their acts of power, and of course it will all lead somewhere, but it’s so far ahead that no one should be able to see what’s coming. Most shows will get into the real plot by the middle of the series, and that hallmark is soon-approaching. Hopefully, the grand design becomes relatively clear by then.

Gundam 00: Episode 6

Rating: 8/10

Impressions:

Setsuna’s past is coming back to haunt him…not that it hasn’t been doing so already though. This complicates things quite, as it opens up another net of possibilities in which the plot and character relations can develop to. Ali seems to be the typical type of ruthless bad guy in many shows, and here he is clearly the antagonist to oppose Setsuna. However, their relationship runs pretty deep, and I’m not sure whether it had been a good or bad one. Depending on which it is, they could possibly join sides, or run each other into hell. I’m glad we’re looking back at Setsuna again, since his background should be the most important at the moment (and we hardly know anything about).

Gundam 00: Episode 5

Rating: 8/10

Impressions:

A very Allelujah-centric episode, which touches on his backstory which the show will surely cover soon enough. I doubt we’ll get to see too deeply into his past until later on when the plot develops further, and a need arises to reveal any details regarding this Gundam Meister. For now, we see that he seems to have a connection with Ensign, and during his “headache”, his fringe changes direction, while the colour of his eyes changes as well. He also appears to talk to himself, which gives rise to the possibility that he has multiple personalities, or something of the like. I doubt it, but perhaps he’s a design baby or sorts as well?

Gundam 00: Episode 4

Rating: 7.8/10

Impressions:

Now we see that the Gundam Meisters WILL probably have a few problems with the major world powers, as they would be expected to. However, one of these obstacles in particular proves to be highly annoying. The UN guy’s attitude is making me begin to detest him, and I’m hoping Setsuna gets to beat him up a few times. On the other hand, (I’ve probably mentioned this before, but can’t be stuffed checking) I can’t find a distinct good and bad side to cheer and jeer for. And so far, the possible outcomes are so extensive that I can’t even make a guess on how the diplomacies will change between nations and individual characters. But that’s what makes it wonderfully exciting.

Gundam 00: Episode 3

Rating: 8/10

Ah, exams are over. And now I’m feeling particularly lazy, which is NOT very good for this blog lol. Anyway, third episode: it’s established that the Gundams are definitely a force to be reckoned with, especially with the loss of the ‘best’ pilot of the Union. Of course, there is the equipment and technology difference, but that all reinforces the Meisters’ might at the moment. With Setsuna’s inexperience though, I’d say it won’t be long before some tactical work will get the better of him on the battlefield. And also, I can’t get over the fact that the purple-haired meister is a guy. He is clearly not. Clearly. =P

Gundam 00: Episode 2

Rating: 8/10

Impressions:

The second episode features a synopsis of the world affairs regarding the three major powers, as well as the presence of the great energy collecting solar constructs. Thankfully, the three superpowers are already being differentiated, while Celestial Beings are slowly being defined. It seems like they plan on crushing the world so badly that, there would be no choice but to cease fighting. I’d like to hear about the Gundam Meisters’ motivation for joining such a reason—Setsuna’s reason doesn’t seem strong enough to put him in a mental position where he’s willing to commit such murders.
