Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 3.25

Impressions:

Wow, that’s a shitload of fanservice if you ask me. This ‘picturebook’, or ‘set of still frames of pure fanservice with voice overs’ is a must see if you like to fawn over the Geass girls. Apparently, this is episode 3.25, which reminds me of Platform 9 ¾ from Harry Potter. I don’t know why it isn’t 3.5 though (or was the first picture book 3.5? I didn’t see it). Also, this is a nice little special if you want a break from the normal Code Geass. And that reminds me, I’m a bit behind on Code Geass due to my computer dying on me, which I will be getting to soon…hopefully!

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 16

Rating: 9.3/10

Impressions:

Another useless episode about Mao and his stupid obsessive nature, and his desire to beat Lelouch at a game causes his expected downfall once again. What this episode does achieve is to bring some light to Suzaku’s father, and also to increase the irony with him working with Lelouch, as they are on opposite sides of a war. It’s also rather strange to see Cornelia acting so playful with Euphemmia, and slightly disturbing when she honours Lelouch and Nanaly, partially devoting the defeat of Zero to them, when in fact Lelouch is THE Zero whom she is currently fighting! And also, read this below (I am Iasuru btw).

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 15

Rating: 9.2/10 (upped because of the last scene!)

Impressions:

I am in love with the last few scenes in this episode. @_@ I’ve always been a fan of a C.C. x Lelouch pairing, mainly because C.C. has the most understanding, and this just made my day. Oh what straightforward yet beautiful lines C.C. says… (yes, I am obsessing) and oh god damn they didn’t kiss. Even though this ‘partnership’ is more likely just a way of securing each other for future use, as in Lelouch using C.C. in his war, and C.C. using him for whatever she needs to get done. However, it could definitely develop into more, and that’s something I am constantly hoping for. Go away Karen! xD

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 14

Rating: 9.3/10

Impressions:

I hear some distributor group rearranged the OP sequence and slapped COLORS back on…now that’s something I’d like to see, but can’t due to internet restrictions…as always. I still don’t like the OP, and I thought sitting through it again this time might make me change my mind slightly, but it didn’t at all. Sigh. Anyway, this episode is quite surprising with the numerous plot twists (including very hot goth C.C.!), though I think the end of Shirley as an obstacle to Lelouch was done perfectly. It was highly unexpected, though I really feel sad yet somehow relieved when Shirley talks to Lelouch after losing her memory.

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 13

Rating: 9/10

Impressions:

Oh my god I have never hated Shirley or Suzaku more in my life. Seriously they both should just fucking get killed by some random piece of shrapnel. Suzaku is the most annoying bastard I’ve seen in an anime. And now Shirley too. She just HAD to be standing right there in front of Lelouch, which totally screwed him up! And I don’t even believe he would get so agitated at the death of Shirley’s dad. C.C. is completely right in saying he’s weak! He is far from resolute, now it’s landed him in the worst possible position. I hate it when the most stupid people cause his downfall; it’s just not right. It’s like a master tactician plotting out a brilliant plan that wins the war, only to be killed by some drunk, homeless bum with a knife. Man this is how I felt when that bitch Yoshida from Shana started getting all ‘I will be brave and fight b your side, Yuuji” or some crap like that. A perfect example of when someone who knows nothing gets involved and suddenly ruins everything. Though I must admit, Yoshida is pretty cute in the manga…hehe.

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 12

Rating: 9.2/10

Impressions:

This show never ceases to amaze me. What would otherwise be another average episode with some plot and character development, becomes one full of surprises and twists. Not to mention more mysteries are continually arising. We are introduced to a few new faces, including a guy wearing some headgear, standing on the roof of Lelouch’s school and seemingly communicating with C.C., as well as a woman called Rakshata, who is perhaps the creator of the Guren Nishiki. The new questions also provide excellent material for further character development, which I love as there is such a diverse range of character types in this show. C.C. tries to convince the person on the academy’s roof that Lelouch is nothing but perhaps a tactical partner or even a pawn to her, though obviously she is gaining fondness of him. Also, with the revelation of the leader of Kyoto, and the resolution he gives to help Lelouch, provides Karen with ample opportunity to defend Lelouch and his identity, showing her obvious affection for him. Even her jealousy of C.C. is emphasized with her reminiscence.

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 11

Rating: 9.9/10

Impressions:

My god that was an insanely awesome episode! The first half, the battle, is spectacular, while the latter half, the flashbacks, is probably the most interesting thing I’ve seen in this series yet. First, the confrontation between the Order of the Black Knights and the Britannian army, with the Japanese Liberation Front joining coming into the fray as well. The battle is certainly very well executed, with the draw of an ending actually believable. We got a couple of interesting match-ups too; Cornelia vs Guren Nishiki and Lancelot vs Guren Nichiki, while Tougo made an appearance too. Cornelia proves that she is an excellent fighter by being able to wipe out masses of enemies with the little modified Frame that she uses. However, it just can’t stand up to a more advanced model with high capabilities, namely Karen’s Guren Nishiki. However, the true pairing would be the Lancelot and the Guren Nishiki, since they are both new and advanced models. At least with this, the sides are becoming even.

Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion: Episode 10

Rating: 9.8/10

Impressions:

Code Geass is just awesome entertainment. You get random fanservice, lots of mecha action, scenes where people’s heads practically explode, excellent scheming and of course, being a huge Evangelion fan, the ass-kicking new Guren Nishiki. I’ve also been converted to a Karen fan now, having previously been a C.C. fan, though I only like Karen when she has her hair spiked up. Anyway, yes the random fanservice is obviously the pool scene at the start of the episode. Was that even necessary? I guess it worked well as a change of scenery. It also provided some well needed interaction between C.C. and Lelouch, since they have to get close on the outside if they are ever gonna turn against each other and initiate a war. Speaking of that, it seems like Suzaku might be getting the Geass next episode, which will be an interesting turn of events. Since Lelouch and Suzaku are like polar opposites, it will be cool to see how they utilise their powers differently. Well, at least someone should be getting Geass, since the title of episode 14 is: Geass versus Geass.
