jinyamoto: u misunderstood me, when i said kazuki 'couldn't die', i meant he 'wont' die because he is the main character of a shounen anime. what shounen has their main charater die in the middle of the anime? and when i say 'die', it doesnt include when someone dies and comes back as a spirit. for example, DBZ, characters die yet they can still participate in the show. Bleach is another example, where hollows/shinigami are actually all 'dead'.

drakon: shana is based on novels as im sure u know, and definitely did not reach the real climax of the show, which is probably why it felt that way, though personally i didnt feel that when i watched it at all.

Shana for me is like a rollercoster ride, it starts slow and starts to build up to a peek and goes back to slow again, its have a build up to the "boss" fight and returns to normal over the course of the series.

My issue with "normal" in Shana is that it usually amounts to a great deal of nothing, they are moving the plot along but its they are not good episodes for the viewer to watch independent from the rest.

Take the OVA, it was fun to watch and works as a independent episode even when its place right after the end of the "Twincest", usually normal Shana is not like that because they go over drama instead of comedy ... issue is drama does not work well in self contained episodes as comedy does.

just to confirm something with all of you... against the frog homunculus, kazuki did not die... he was injured rather badly and was let's say... near death...

danny: kazuki can die, he's near immortal but is not an immortal.., the kakugane is just like another heart for him , and if it's destroyed, irregardless whether he's in black form or not... he will die.. also in human form if the kakugane is held too long away from his body, he will die, i think it was stated in the earlier episodes(not sure about dark kazuki though)

Yes, it was a enjoyable ride ... I look forward to a second season.

Busou Renkin however dont seen to have much of dead moments, there is always action and comedy and the episodes seem to be well planned.

Kazuki been killed 4 times so far, first by the snake homunculus, then by the frog homunculus, then by Victor and now by Captain Bravo.

What I like about this show is that is consistence, there is no shift (like moving from comedy to drama) and no dead moments (Shana was guilty of that).

Heehee, I had a feeling you'll start to like BR more xD I think I'm the only one who totally freaked at Bravo for killing Kazuki. I will not forgive him that easily, even after episode 17. Screw him xD

I'm glad that BR is also being subbed more on time now, too ^^ And you may be right about Chouno. I dunno about him having the second Black Kakugane, but he's definitely not going anywhere xD
