Bleach: Episode 170

Impressions:

What a…crap episode. Seriously, the animation quality dropped to something like 10% of what it is usually…not that that’s an accurate estimate, but oh well. Thus, the execution quality dropped severely as well. The animators resorted to the simplest of scene execution, which almost hurt my eyes. Some facial expressions look so ridiculous that it’s hardly even funny. And it’s not looking good in terms of storyline either. Now that Ichigo has become a bodyguard, I can’t see anything else happening aside from dodgy fights and character development between the princess and Ichigo, which I would assume should be comical, but would probably end up as just lame.

    wat a pain in a butt well i rather wait for the original story rather than the filler story. anyway i wont give up watching this show.

    actually, I might find this filler arc better than the heuco mundo arc. No, I’m not bullshitting. Bleach would’ve been awesome if they stick to school life and stuff. Things go DBZ when they went to Soul Society. *sigh*

    I completely agree with DotAzam, this filler arc is a lot more entertaining than the official arc as it was just one fight after another, after another, after another, with absolutely nothing to break the cycle.

    Also once again I have to neglate your “animation quality dropped” comment as I believe it actually looks BETTER than average in this episode. Taking another quick flick through the episode and I cannot even spot one incorrectly-proportioned actor unlike almost every other episode where there is at least one or two.

    Zarin: there are more ways than one to define bad quality. for one, i DO believe there are a lot of badly drawn faces, but that is highly subjective. something that is OBJECTIVE tho, is the fact that they used rather cheap animation by repeating frames….thus effectively lowering the frame rate (obvious during fighting). also, the way they animate movement is really poor, since it looks extremely fake. one example is when someone is running away from the camera, so they shud be decelerating from the view of the camera, when they looked like they were accelerating. also, they used a lot of simple still shots and a lot of dialogue, another example of lazy animation.

    i think that the animation quality was ok, but im not very picky with that, i’m worried more about the story line. Although i agree that i cant see were this is going other than dodgy fights and character development between ichigo and the girl, i still am thankfull for a change in scenery.

    Fillers are like this, anyway. Don’t hope too much.
    The fillers in Bleach are a pain, compared to others.

    Anyway, u can’t hope too much from Bleach’s fillers… they are crap. Really.
    But this arc pissed me off more than the others, the storyline sucks. But well, hope this ends quickly~

    I wouldn’t be quite so depressed if they didn’t keep making stupid mistakes.

    Oh, he trapped Ichigo’s sword in a stone wall? What does Ichigo do? Cry out and complain. Not shatter the hell out of it with his well-developed lazer sword attack. And that was just to reveal some lameass zanpaktou.

    Hey, we just beat him! Ignoring the fact that the last one COMMITED SUICIDE so that we can’t catch him, I, Rukia, the smart one, am going to place my sword at his throat. I was BEGGING to have the guy slit his own throat.

    I also don’t like the silent guy. As far as I’m concerned, he may as well not exist. Chad has the Silent role filled pretty well. Nova was pretty useful, so I don’t mind him (plus he looks cool).

    Bleach comedy sucks >.
