Bleach: Episode 162

Rating: 8.3/10
Impressions:
Sorry for the lack of posts, I’ve had the ‘can’t be bothered’ mood for a while now. I’ll try and get more posts up tomorrow. Anyway, Bleach 162, an episode that is actually above my expectations. Nice. But then again, my expectations have been rather low for a while now. I’m not saying the last few episodes were bad either, but this is Ichigo we’re talking about, the guy that grabbed me and hooked me into watching the show. It’s so nice watching him fight…but too bad he got owned pretty easily. And regardless of any upcoming events, he seriously should be dead. He was like…stabbed in the heart…

well this ep was great in my opinion nothing bad to say the quality slightly dropped but other wise was good i like the orihime part they should show more of orihime, ok now for the kenpachi part i think ur right maybe he has some trick up his sleeves maybe he learned bankai haha i least i hope so cause its really becoming a drag watching them show us nel or somthing
this bleach EP was nice i like it when he goes all hollow and for the manga yes it odd for kenpachi to be able to beat that espada but in my opinion kenpachi has more raitsu than ichigo without his pactch sucking his raitsu
this is the answer to your question about the manga:

IN RESPONSE TO THE SPOILER PART OF DANNY’S POST:
“It’s quite interesting to see that, Ichigo in hollow form was OWNED by an unreleased 4th espada, while he was able to fight on par with a 6th espada at a released state.”
You’re not at all considering the fact that Ichigo could only retain his Vaizard form for 11 seconds in the fight against Ulquiorra, while against Grimmjow, he possibly extended the limit to entire minutes. You might argue that even if he could stay like that for a longer time in the first case, he couldn’t pose a threat to Ulquiorra anyway, seeing as the latter managed to block Black Gentsuga Tenshou without reveiving any damage, but that’s still far from certain. He couldn’t beat Ulq’s released state, fair enough, but unreleased? I think the fight would’ve had great potential if Ichigo could only have hold onto his Hollow powers a little longer.
“But the problem is, how the hell can Kenpachi fight on par with a 5th espada with no shikai? That’s just bullshit in my opinion, having lost to Ichigo once before.”
While I entirely agree with you on this matter, I’d just like to point out that Kenpachi’s sword is a permanent Shikai, very much like Ichigo’s. The fight was still a tremendous pile of bullshit, though, with Kenpachi beating the 5th Espada without a Bankai or, well, ANYTHING (just pure strenght RAWR RAWR!!). Kinda destroyed his character right there (he’s been portrayed as badass-fuckin’-awesome up until now in the series, but that with Nnoitra was just over the top). It disappoints me how Kubo Tite completely forsakes realism for the sake of story development.
Also, in regards to actual episode…Yeah, Ichigo should have just died at that point. Same as, hell, EVERYONE ELSE.
Replied with Arenu at the same time, meh.
I agree with you….but how can a dead person die? I fail to see the realism in that….
I REALLY liked this one. Maybe because I’ve been so dissapointed lately. I know compared to Bleach’s ‘peak’ this is still not amazing, but I still got excited.
Well, about Kenpachi:

Well, thats what i think about that! ^^U
hi…………muztah n
haha I’m just laughing at the fact that you guys are talking about realism in Bleach.
And you did not see this coming? There is a pattern for this, dragonBallz/gt, yu yu hokusho and basically every other action anime this length.
He owns, gets his ass kicked, gets better than just about everyone, then there’s someone like a bajillion times stronger than him that turns out to be a rival or like super evil that basically kills you.
and the cycle continues until everyone is sick of it and the stop making the anime, or kill of the main char…and cant be brought back to life….again or something like that.(DBGT/Z)
It’s nice but It seems me it’s overestimated…
@exp: it’s called shounen. all anime of this genre are like that.
it was to be expected, and there is no justification to be
surprised by that fact.
