Bleach: Episode 160

Impressions:

(Comp is finally fixed)~Quite a touching episode, and although it feels a bit slow, it’s not lacking in material at all in my opinion. The usual sense of sluggishness comes from extended periods of showing the same movement over and over again, while repeating lines and random shots of random things. If you’ve seen Naruto, you know what I mean. But for this episode of Bleach, the slowness really makes the whole Rukia x Kaien relationship all the more powerful. I can’t even remember if Rukia’s situation has been resolved in the manga or not, as the anime is quite close to catching up.

    I liked this episode quite a bit. I agree with you that the way they handled showing the true light around Rukia and Kaien’s relationship was done well.

    My only problem was that I felt the ending was a little bit too “character gets slapped around for a long time but comes back and kicks ass in one move”-ey. Seeing as it IS shounen however, guess is doesn’t matter much =D

    I should… probably catch up on Bleach. I’ve been neglecting it for a while since it’s been a letdown as of late.

    Although (to me that is) Bleach isn’t as good as the good old society days, I am enjoying it more then the recent past.

    Xjellocross: yeah deleted =] and also agree with the highly shounen-typical aspect of the episode involving rukia kicking the espada’s ass in the very end despite being subjected to some major thrashing for the most part

    Shin: hmm…i would personally be content with reading the manga

    fatallightning: yeah, i think thats a given opinion in most people, including me. back then, bleach was still pretty pure in terms of typicality

    john: slowing down by this much isn’t going to do much…unless bleach falls to naruto pacing D=
