Bleach: Episode 154

Rating: 7.5/10

Impressions:

This episode covers almost two chapters of manga, with some inserts of minor filler material. Due to all the talking and focus on a single area, this episode feels really slow to me. The problem with Bleach now is, if it continues with a relatively fast pace (2-3 chapters per episode), it will be forced to produce fillers in due time. But going a slow pace like it is now destroys the intensity and excitement of the manga material anyway. I think I’ll just place my faith in the manga for now, and start expecting more when we get to the real fights. Hopefully there won’t be a massive filler arc before ‘reinforcements’ arrive.

Well, the past couple of weeks of manga haven’t been all that plausible either. Even in a world thats completely fictional, I haven’t been able to take them seriously. I’ve almost lost all hope for this series, I’m sorry to say. I once loved it more than I could ever love a human baby… but alas, all good things must slowly drag on and die a painful death, apparently.

Oh come on, guys. There are plenty of great things to happen yet:

    * What was Ichigo’s dad’s role before he left Soul Society?
    * What will Kenpachi’s shikai (glup! or bankai) be like?
    * Ichigo vs. Aizen, rematch! Hope it’s more exciting than just the one-finger block like last time.
    * What does Aizen want to do with Soul Society’s King? What did the King do to him anyway?
    * Tousen’s betrayal. Yup, I’m expecting it. That should be some drama given the kind of character he is.
    * Orihime’s betrayal. Will she pay the ultimate price for betraying Aizen?
    * Many of the other captain’s and ex-captain’s (read ichigo’s dad’s) bankai’s.

A possible following arc may be Ishida somehow forced into becoming the next antagonist and may possibly take out a major character, thereby forcing Ichigo’s sword on him.

    Have faith, people. Have faith.

AirbrushMercenary: it’s probably because there’s been nothing but fighting. And fighting on paper is, frankly, quite boring. I wanna see some plot development!

fatallightning: hmm, your comment is very interesting XD

bakaneko: add to that a lot of character development. more so with the captains. and they need to introduce some new characters, the existing cast got old centuries ago. I also wonder if theyre gonna give the captains a power above bankai to match up with ichigo/aizen/espada now, or they might just ‘max out’ the existing bankais. Byakuya needs to show us his 1000 sword bankai by USING all 1000 swords next time. =)

Although I hate to admit it (as I’ve been a Bleach fan for a while now), Naruto has gone beyond Bleach for now. The fights are better, the plot development is more interesting and I’m not watching and thinking “oh well, this was so and so, maybe the next will be better”. I’m watching and thinking “Nice, can’t wait to next week!”. It feels like I’m watching Bleach half out of pity. Hope it’ll pick up soon…

The Fish, I’m in complete agreement with you. the more Naruto goes, the better it gets. and thats my only comfort in these dark times.

I sense Anime Only Ending guys. it looks like it. It will end with Hueco Mundo and then some big arc fillers like the Bount then and Anime only Aizen/King Ending. Bleach’s Future looks bleek now in the Anime. Manga…..THEY NEED TO GET OUT OF HUECO MUNDO NOW! SO TIRING!

I just thought the comment before mine was a bit harsh.

The Fish: I’ve never been a Naruto fan, so I can’t say I agree with you, but I can see where you’re coming from at least.

Corey: I…hope not. Naruto’s continued on for 250+ episodes, so I doubt they’ll cut Bleach short.

Anonymous: I used to like Rukia…when she first appeared, acting all superior and cool…but now.. >_<

    fatallightning: Ahh ok lol

Danny. Maybe Peirrot are losers and that they want to cut Bleach Short just because Naruto sells better. I swear that isnt the truth. Bleach is making them money also
