Bleach: Episode 140

Rating: 7.8/10
Impressions:
For Bleach standards, this episode features some pretty impressive fighting. Although some are better than others, the majority of the fights in this episode are animated quite well, keeping close to the manga, with an exception of Shinji getting more time in the anime than the manga. Speaking of the manga, this episode covers around two and half chapters, completing 236. This leaves another 54 chapters until the anime gets to where the manga is currently up to (which would take around 21 episodes if the anime stays at the current pacing). Realistically though, it would take around 35 to catch up with the recent manga chapters in the future.

Judging by the episode titles, by episode 143, the anime should’ve covered up to chapter 240. However, whether it continues with the manga, into the Hueco Mundo arc, or not, is unknown. They could easily go back to showing fillers, which would be a smart thing to do for the studio’s sake, though it’s unlikely there will be many pleased fans. |

I’m not sure how much more of the Hueco Mundo arc there is for the manga, though if that can finish in time, Bleach will probably insert another massive filler arc after…sadly. By the way, there will be a new OP and ED starting episode 143 (OP by Asian Kung-Fu Generation)! The ED will be by Atari Kousuke, though I’ve never heard of such an artist before… |

I enjoyed seeing Urahara in action the most, though once again he doesn’t get a proper fight. Well, it’s not like Yami would be able to give him a proper fight. I’d say that even if he released his zanpakutou, Urahara’s bankai would be able to finish him in no time. In my opinion, Urahara deserves someone like Ulquiorra, who manga readers will know is the *** strongest espada. |
|
Similar to Kenpachi, who has an enormous store of latent power in the form of a shikai and bankai, which he has yet to achieve, I believe Urahara to be one of the strongest captains/ex-captains. I would be keen to say that he’s at least a lot stronger than Byakuya, but then again Byakuya never got to use his Thousand Swords in the same fashion as his Thousand Cherry Blossoms. Ah, but someone like Toushiro, IMO, can never face up to a true (er-hem) fighter like Urahara. xD |

Well, i can’t helt to llok forward to next episode^^
but this one wasn’t to bad either..
But i think that there will be more fillers before the hueco moundo arc.
unless ichigo and the others draw back now, then they might continue
at least bleach episode is keeping a two chapters or more of manga per anime episode pace unlikely naruto who does 1 chapter or less of manga equal to one anime episode of manga and one of the reasons why naruto is getting so boring except for the last part of sasori fight which was the best episode of naruto yet but not still as good as the old episodes.
Great! I love this episode! I just wish the next episode would come out faster then every Thursday! What’s up with that?! Am I not already bored enough with school?!
Where did you hear news about the new OP and ED?
I really wish they didn’t keep switching OPs and EDs so frequently…
i’m always happy when the anime is following the manga, and the fillers end (temporarily as always). i can’t wait to read the new chapter this weekend. if the hueco mundo arc has any more fillers in the middle of it, i dunno what’s gonna happen to me. i might melt or something.
on a non-bleach tangent, i noticed you don’t have anything about trigun… what’s up?
KILLER! Urahara rocks!
brian: It’s on AnimeNewsNetwork–they change the OP every half year, and the ED every 3 months, so it’s not exactly that often, seeing as how a normal anime series is only 3 or 6 months long.
lauren: Trigun aired around 1998 right? I didn’t start blogging until last year.
well, alright, i suppose i could overlook it, considering how many others you’re involved with =)i was just surprised since its among my favorites and most of those are here.
The constant strong presence of Rukia in the following episodes will garner support from this hapless fanboy.
Urahara’s getting jiggy with it always helps the oil-train we call Bleach, rolling up the hills of awesome. His Shikai makes our jaws and pants drop, so we’ll see what KT has in store for him.
But like all good things, they won’t last.
PS: Rukia trumps Senna (just out of spite)
I think Urahara’s gonna kill Aizen, get back his Hogyoku, and rule over everyone. Think about it, why would he be so kind to help Ichigo and the others. It’s not like he’s a captain anymore, plus he never even used his bankai, he’s fooling everyone.
Darkshaunz: Rukia trumps Senna? Riiighht. =P
Dconan: Now THAT would be an interesting twist, which would probably extend Bleach for another 100 episodes (+ fillers) xD
Does anyone know what the song is called that comes on when Rukia attacks Grimmjow from behind? The one with the bells and violin?
Dconan: So Urahara, who seems to have a good relationship (almost subservient) with Isshin, and is best friends with Yoruichi, who’s been helping since the early episodes, is going to take over?
I damn well hope not, that would be rediculous.
By the way the name of the song is “Senna” by Shiro Sagisu.
