Impressions:

Ah, it’s nice how this episode redeems the last episode somewhat, as it does provide a nice explanation of the situation with Ulquiorra, as well as connects it to the main arc. It’s just that with shounen anime, a lot of the lesser enemies seem to be incredible stupid, up to the point where they actually believe they had taken down Ulquiorra with such lame attacks. Anyway, I found myself enjoying this episode a lot more than I expected, probably due to the great leap up from the last episode, as well as the lack of any Bleach last week. The next episode seems to return to the manga storyline, which I can’t wait to see. Hopefully Bleach will be filler-free for a decent while this time.

This episode places a lot of the focus on the three mod souls, which I actually did not despise as I normally would. The main factor contributing to my liking of it is how the characters are shown in a somewhat different light this time—especially Ririn with her care for Renji (whom she probably treats as family by now). It wouldn’t be all the bad if the mod souls actually became more powerful, or more specifically Ririn as there aren’t enough female characters at the moment. Of course, doing something like that would probably mess up the show, and of course that wouldn’t be very pleasing.

Hehe… somehow, I knew Aizen would pull a trick like that… There would be no way an Espada would be bested by mere arrancars…

Very good episode! But Bleach is not filler free yet! Maybe after the Hueco Mundo arc there will be something. I predict a a woman filler villian. Or should i say Fillian!

i gave up on the anime and read the manga, i was just tooo curious. And i think i’m relieved so far after reading the manga.
Since in the next episode the arrancars appear again, i think the fillers start to stop.

Oh, wow. I am impressed that the Mod Souls actually DID something. Normally they just get completely wasted. Their (Nova and Ririn) abilities have a lot of potential. THANK GOODNESS the fillers are done. I have a Plot deficiency…
