Bleach: Episode 128

Yep, Bleach has definitely reached a filler arc. The question is, how long will it be? Since the fillers have been inserted in the middle of a greater arc, I doubt it will last long (though I can see it spanning for 10 or so episode, which is pretty bad…) Fillers aren’t that bad if they are not in massive 50 episode chunks, though what does make them bad is the lack of effort put into making them. The quality is usually well below par, and this episode is definitely not the best work of art I’ve seen in Bleach. If the production value actually goes up, the fillers might turn out to be fairly interesting.

Shouta was a bit annoying to watch, due to his impudence. His remark about Toushiro being around his age made me realise that he’s actually extremely short. Well ok, I knew he was short and is meant to be a child prodigy, but was he really always that short? How old is Toushiro meant to look anyway? His height would suggest he’s more like a ten year old than a more suitable 15 or 16 year old. It doesn’t help much that he hasn’t been pwning bad guys much these days…xD Speaking of which, I can’t wait to see Urahara in action, which should come soon enough after the fillers.

We get more of the stepping on air thing, which even though there is an explanation behind this, still doesn’t seem right to me. It’s just that flying is one of those things I really don’t like seeing. Another example would be when someone doesn’t die even after getting stabbed and slashed, enough to kill the guy ten times over. The notion of dying from a stab was kept pretty well for the soul society arc of Bleach, as Byakuya definitely saw getting stabbed as something quite fatal. However, that rule seems to have loosened up quite a lot, but the slow transgression isn’t too bothersome.

The filler arc seems to be a nice opportunity to get some more of Ichigo training in, though if it’s not any more than just sparring with Hiyori, it wouldn’t be too interesting. The same goes for Chad and Renji. Inoue will have to hold onto her sadness for a while longer too. And bearing similar reasons, Hitsugaya and the other shinigami need to train all of a sudden, when I’m sure they’ve already done so for hundreds or years or so. I highly doubt a few extra fights are going to do much, unless Matsumoto develops, or shows her bankai or something. But actually, if she does have a bankai, I don’t want to see it in a filler.

Because I read your post, I don’t need to see the episode right?
I hope that the fillers arc will be short. I hate to see bleach going down because of that.
Yeah, I guess I can skip this episode too. Isn’t it about time for a new popular shonen series? Besides Naruto/Bleach/One Piece?
Jajaja, this was something that was to happen, we all know that the anime is catching up the manga pretty fast, so we all know that fillers were right at the corner, good thing it happen in a arc, so things that happen will be arc related
darn fillers…oh well..its got hitsugaya in it, so i’m watchin it.
i kinda slowed down in watching the show because it kinda got boring…and orihime kinda bugs me…even though her power rocks!!!
you’ll see….
Bleach Gift Store: I had hoped for DGrayman since the manga is awesome, but the anime has definitely started rolling along a steep downhill slope…
Danny. you should check out Kekkaishi. not only it’s more popular in japan right now than naruto/bleach(tv rating wise), it’s by far a better show. the raw is only up to episode 24 and the sub is up to 20, so you could still catch up. You don’t even need to blog about it. just watch the show. it’s just so much better than bleach/naruto and other shounen shows that we have right now.
Bah, I pray that this filler won’t last long. Bad times if it goes over 4 episodes.
-_- And with how dissapointing the new Naruto has been, I may just have to give Kekkaishi a chance……. maybe
i probably would try it out, if it weren’t for the limit on my bandwidth usage like all other australians…
How can there be a bandwidth limit? in my country, my ISP told me I was downloading too much(45GB a month) and I should pay more. I said “I pay for the connection no bandwidth” and if he doesn’t want me to stay, I will just leave and go to another ISP. I haven’t left, and I’m still downloading 40GB~ a month
Dear God.
Shouta/Shota play is probrably the most excrutiatingly painful filler shit I have had to withstand in a while. I’m going to Bankai in real life.
Please have a Hot Springs episode to make up for this agonizing experience.
/prays
arcanes, im afraid australia’s internet is different to yours, as darkshaunz would know as well
darkshaunz, lol im praying with you xD
Actually, fillers are pretty good if you ignore the quality drop, so long as they make sense and don’t end up as a Naruto “Eternal loop”. This particular episode isn’t so bad. (I’ve seen worse, adn those aren’t even filler) but I kinda cringe at how a half complete arrancar could fight on even ground with a sub-captain who have been fighting for a few hundred years.
Of course, I usually watch Bleach on stream, so a quality drop isn’t something I usually notice.
short fillers are good as long as the quality is high and the story isnt stupid, but when they get long and no character development takes place, thats when it starts getting crap (but really, fillers are usually crap quality which makes them crap by default–except Hayate episode 10 :DD)
Hi danny. How’s life?
Alias: mm, I dont think that watching something streamed really matters if the character’s face looks like its been pasted together from 20 different shots from earlier episodes, and ends up looking like a character from some other anime altogether xD
boro ZZZ: yeah, its also frustrating when the fillers dont end up amounting to anything important
Retsgip: Hi Rets. I’m good.
Quite frankly, not really. The only real drawback from watch streamed videos is that the quality generally looks like something pulled out of the nineties. That and the fact that on occasion, the thing lags like hell. Of course, if given the choice, I would go for downloads, but i just don’t have the kind of space in my comp to stuff in a good 100+ episodes.
Alias, for me, I have download limits. But if your only problem is harddisk space, you can easily delete the episodes you watch.
