Bleach: Episode 126

Rating: 9.3/10

Impressions:

Covering three manga chapters and maintaining good quality, this week’s Bleach continues to move along excitingly, more so for those who haven’t read the manga I’m sure. However, at the pace Bleach is going, and with 50 chapters to go at this moment, fillers can’t be too far off. We’ve had almost 20 episodes of genuine Bleach now, can we reach a full year’s worth of it? And even if we do, how many fillers will there be? 50 episodes? 100? Or better yet, the producers will actually stop Bleach and make a sequel out of it. Unless they found those two years worth of Naruto randomness to be a stroke of genius.

At this point in time, it looks like everyone is undergoing some sort of training or preparation. Ichigo of course is trying to control his hollow side, while at the moment he has only successfully held his newfound power for 4 seconds (or was it 6?) Chad, Renji and Ishida are also undergoing their own respectively preparation methods for the upcoming unknown.

I found Ishida’s regaining of power a bit too out of whack. It would have been more interesting if it had been incorporated into the story better, but then again, just regaining his powers doesn’t mean Ishida is set to take on the Espada, or whatever other force. Likewise, Ichigo winning his initial inner follow battle doesn’t mean he’s all set either.

So, Inoue has been found by Yoruichi. Since everyone else is training, I wonder what business Yoruichi could possibly have with Inoue xD. Actually, this business with Inoue is a lot more serious than some may think. She plays a large role and marks the major turning point in the story, which should be around episode 128, judging by the episode title.

In this episode, Urahara has some brief lines, but one of them reveals his concern over how Chad’s powers are not like a Shinigami or Quincy, but we don’t get to hear what he thinks Chad resembles. At the moment, the only known types of powers would belong to Hollows and the hybrids, so my guess is that Chad’s powers are somewhat like a hollow’s.

I didn’t notice in the manga, but apparently Mashiro never needed any endurance training to suppress her inner hollow. This might indicate that she has high control and could probably last the longest in a fight. This makes me want to see her fight, as well as the other Vaizards. I always feel the Vaizard have yet to get a significant role (in both the anime and manga).

I said before that the major turning point in the story is approaching. Some new enemies are going to come along and spoil everyone’s day for our, the audience’s, entertainment. And that’s when things start getting serious, while Ichigo will be able to show off his new powers (even though the time he can use it for is depressingly short). Hopefully the quality will be high as well!

Good post:). the pace of the anime is faster than I thought it would be, but I prefer it that way. just look at naruto slow pace and you should know why…
I think these chapters(with the Vaizards) were the most interesting - plot wise in bleach after the SS arc. we get to know a lot of stuff, but I think it brings more questions than answers. I’m hoping for an epic plot twist. the single best chapter in bleach is close!!!. I can’t wait to see it in the anime!.

The hell, why no bleach next week, men, i did really wanted to see the next chapter, well, hope bleach won’t turn in a byweek anime, like Gantz manga has already turned

By the way, i was also surprised about the fact that Mashiro could use her hollow form in a large ammount of time since she achieved it, make me wanna see her fight already

Also, Inoue’s line “I see, he isn’t surprised beacuase he doesn’t understand the meaning of this” just owned this episode, i was ROFL like hell, in others words “Kurosaki-kun is an idiot”, xD

At a rate of 3 chapters per episode, we’ve got about 23/24 episodes or so left before the manga and anime would be at the same point. That brings us to ep 150 and chapter 300. Think a simultaneous finish will work out?

well bleach is certainly getting into high gear.

As for me I’d prefer they just stop for a season just going into fillers.

random, i doubt that, unless the producers can make an anime days after getting their material for it (the manga)

By the way, Urahara indicates in the episode that his Bankai is no good to help Chad out with his training, it kinda makes me think what his Bankai is like and other abilities he has under his sleeves.

i would say this means his bankai is probably something that kills and not hurts ;-)

Me too. I wish the Japanese animation companies would realize that fillers hurt them in the longrun. Then again, I am not part of their target demographic. Maybe the kids are totally fine with fillers over there.

They probably are, in general. Kids really love the characters over there. Whereas true “fans” of the show hate any new non-manga material and then wish they’d release something new after the show’s over.
