Impressions:

I’m surprised that even after including those hallucinations with Byakuya and Kariya that the episode still managed to go through two chapters of the manga. The manga parts of the episode were not affected by the extra bits, and I find the reminiscences quite interesting to watch. Overall, I believe the inclusion of this kind of filler material was a good idea. It seems that Zaraki will appear in a vision of Ichigo’s as well, this time as part of the original and proper manga, though this will complement the appearances of Byakuya and Kariya quite well. Also judging by future episode titles, it seems the anime will go through the manga at a faster pace.

I’m pretty sick of seeing how people are dissing Bleach just because of the few fillers it has (in this episode I mean). I also hate how people automatically hate fillers without watching them first. Sure, the Bounto arc was bad, but small fillers in new episodes such as this is no big deal. If you don’t like seeing fillers, it would be great to either not read the manga, or not watch the anime. Complaining just ruins everything for those of us who do like Bleach at the moment. In my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with the fillers in this episode. It actually makes it more interesting.

Anyway, I really like the notion of how Ichigo and Shirosaki are complete opposites, so much so that just by touching each other, they can ‘convert’ or ‘destroy’ the other. Note how Shirosaki makes Ichigo’s sword white when he touches it. Near the end of the episode, Ichigo too learns to focus his instincts and do the same to Shirosaki, converting the remaining sword back to his own (should I be using the word zanpakuto?) This capability strongly emphasises the idea that it is very easy for either Ichigo or Shirosaki to take over, which is why Ichigo really needs to put a lot of effort into overpowering his hollow side in the mean time.s

Shirosaki isn’t an official name. It’s just what people call Ichigo’s Hollow side. Regular Ichigo is KUROsaki (kuro = black). Hollow Ichigo is SHIROsaki (shiro = white). Get it?

Pretty bad episode. I’m sorry to say that I think different on the matter of fillers than you. they should be NOT connected to the main story!. why make fillers when you do the manga parts shorter? when Shirosak talks about the instinct ichigo needs, they cut like half of what he said in the manga. the whole thing just doesn’t go well. and even if I had fillers, I’m gonna keep watching and bitching about them. bleach anime IS the animation of bleach the manga. if it weren’t, nobody would have watched it. so telling us the manga readers and fillers haters not the watch the anime is wrong. the anime should be filers FREE!. I don’t want to ruin your enjoyment, I’m just saying what I think about the episdoe:).

@arcanes: You forgot one thing that automatically makes anime different from manga. What is it? The anime is an adaptation of the source material. That means that it won’t be 100% identical to the source material, which in this case is the Bleach manga. So, there is no such thing as anime having to be or “should be” filler-free. This is why complaints and bitching do and will always fall on deaf ears, well, except in the case where there is a group of whiners anyway…

Yeah, i really didn’t like this episode either, and not for the fact that the fillers came in, actually, the filles gave some kind of new escence to the anime, but, the fact is, the confrontation of Shirosaki and Ichigo took a mayor role on the manga, but in the anime, it’s like something else, nothing much, i feel like they are going way too fast on reaching a certain point on the anime

I loved this epidode. I dont know what’s wrong with the fillers anyway. They only add to the story! I love this place

I’m fine with Bleach as it is right now; I personally like the fillers for this episode. Still, its still the begining but I think Ichigo vs. Shirosaki could go a tad bit slower. The pacing feels a little fast, and any major fillers (especially slow boring ones like the bouto arc) could really kill off the fan base.

I would say that the “filler” included in this episode, was actually 100% fine. I mean sure I had a huge “WTF I thought we were done with him” look on my face. But it wasn’t a bad thing in any way.
I do admit I’m generally ok with entire filler episodes, especially when they induce great amounts of laughter. I mean think back to shows like Inuyasha that would every now and then have him go to her school for a good day of hijinks. Easily some of the best single episodes.
And what else would you call anime movie’s but filler?

The only times filler really gets to me is when the writing and animation take VERY noticible dives for extended amounts of time. Beyond that I really don’t see why poeple would complain.

……Thinking back I realize that I actually really didn’t like the intervention of the Bounto sensors in episode 120. But then again I’ve never liked any of them to begin with.

inuyasha ,bleach and black cat are my favourite animes so far.i mean they are juz awesome!!!but one thing pisses me off is that i can’t find the title of the opening song from bleach episode 124…i do hope that you guys can tell me as soon as possible..pls?????i’ll be very pleased lol!!!!

i think the fillers in this episode are quite well done…it(the hallucinations) and the ideas brought up build up to when zaraki appears….anyway, its not like the fillers in this episode were badly done

The Bounto arc was not just bad it was painfull but i absolutely agree the current episodes are not nearly as bad. Heck they are pretty good, they are actually adding to the story and personaly i think thats anyone who complains about these episodes being bad is a few planets short of a galaxy.

Tokki, i dont think that Ichigo’s hallow half is evil, Its like he said, its nature and i believe its just his nature to be as powerful as he can be. And for that reason he is uncontrollable, kind of like Zaraki Kenpachi.
