Bleach: Episode 121

Impressions:

Wow the new OP rocks! Some of you might resent me for this, but it owns YUI’s Rolling Star as well. I never liked Bleach OPs with a female singer. The hip-hop, punk type songs suit Bleach the best in my opinion, while the animation sequence fits extremely well. I can already pin point the parts of the manga from which important scenes in the OP has taken. However, the ED, frankly just sucks. I will probably never listen to it again. The ending animation is crap as well. Sure, maybe the animators are experimenting with a new style, or just saving money for the OP and future episodes (or other anime). However, none of that matters when it comes to your liking of it.

The quality of this episode is quite rickety, though it is mostly high. Movement seems to be much smoother, while fighting scenes in general this episode look a thousand times better than last week’s. Some of the normal character animation though is not so good. This episode covers chapters 110 to 112 of the manga. It follows it quite consistently, though for some reason, I was a bit disappointed with Toushiro’s wounds in the end. He doesn’t impress me very much when his demise is emphasised as such. To make up for that though, the fight between Ichigo and Grimmjaw was awesome, as one-sided as it was.     Cool episode, the new OP is awesome and you make a lot of good points about this episode too. Don’t really like the ED myself too. =/

    Welcome back!.I really liked the OP, but the song for me was not as good as Rolling Star. I don’t really mind the ED, but I also think it’s not good.I hope you will catch up on the rest of the shows as well. it has been quite a mess since you left.

    I liked the OP initially but now I like it less since it seems like something more apropos for Naruto.

    And the ED I don’t like anymore either after watching episode 122.

    If this ED has anything going for it, it isn’t as bad as “Happy People.” After sitting through it once, I always fast-forwarded through it every single time after.
