Bleach: Episode 111

Rating: 8.3/10
Impressions:
So it’s two chapters that are covered this week, with some more filler material again. You can already guess that the parts with the Modified Souls are fillers, but everything else is pure manga originated. The fillers were put in for two major reasons in my opinion: one, to slow the pace of the show so that they don’t go through the manga too fast, and two, to not put the Mod Souls out of the picture so suddenly, and perhaps let them appear some more and ease off the scene. Sort of like Shakugan no Shana’s concept of life existences and torches. The quality is down in the dumps too, with the majority of the episode looking like the work of 30 unskilled fanartists combined, which means each frame is completely different and when put together, looks incredibly ridiculous. The quality should be improving soon, since the producers wouldn’t want to disappoint to rabid Bleach fans with shitty looking non-fillers. The Bounto sensors need to disappear too, or at least get animated properly. I swear Ririn can change the size of her eyeballs at will.

Anyway, we have quite a bit going on already in Bleach, which is surely enough to satisfy those who haven’t read the manga. We get the two twists involving the fathers of Ichigo and Ishida. Ichigo’s father is a powerful captain-class Shinigami who’s past is still unknown, while Ishida’s dad is actually the real ‘last quincy’ and claims to be able to restore his son’s powers…but how? Also, we get two new terms: Vaizard (or Vizard) and Arrancar. Both terms have already been explained, so I won’t go into that. |
|
By the looks of it, it’s pretty obvious that the Vaizards and Arrancar are not on good terms with each other. Shinji is trying to pull Ichigo to his side, while the long awaited invasion of the Arrancar has already begun. Just so you know, the King Fisher is more of a prototype Arrancar, and can also be considered as a ‘failed one’. Which means, the real Arrancar are much more powerful, if you can imagine. And from the new ED, you can guess which characters are going to play important roles in the episodes to come. |

Plot Outline:
|
- Ryuken saves Ishida from the Menos Grande with single shots, astounding his son |

|
- Meanwhile, Kon is still being chased by the King Fisher |

|
- Elsewhere, Ichigo notices the presence of a Hollow, which Shinji thinks is unbelievably slow (for him to notice) |

|
- He knows that it is Kon inside Ichigo’s body, and knows that the King Fisher is actually an Arrancar |

I can’t wait to blog this though I think I’m going to have to restrain myself on the screenshots lol
I wish the filler characters would just disappear… Keeping them would just complicate the story.
I like complicated stories lol. I didn’t mind the bleach fillers, wasnt that bad, Ive definatly had worse.
[...] Though it had some things I wasn’t quite expecting, this episode was still great nonetheless. It features scenes with the Mod Souls from the Bounto arc helping out Kon while he’s running away from Grand Fisher. Unlike most, I didn’t really have a problem with the scenes so I don’t have a reason to complain in that regard. However, the animation was very “ugh” in this episode. I don’t know what happened but the artists they used for this episode really loves to draw the characters with pointy chins. I hope the animation quality steps up soon before the really good stuff starts up. The Mod Souls should probably be gone by then since I really don’t see anything more for them to do in the future. They should be written out in a smooth way though (honestly, the only one I really liked was Ririn anyways). Also, do take a look at Danny’s post. He used some manga panels that were used in this week’s episode. [...]
whoa nice. i like your layout style in anime/manga comparison. pretty good article you got going on here =D
basically it follows the manga close eh?
Ririn kinda scares me in human form @_@ I like them much better as dolls, where they can just tack onto someone’s back and we can forget about them.
prince leon: i had problems with taking too many screenshots at one stage too lol
tripleA: i actually dont mind the bounto sensors that much as long as they dont screw up the story – its the quality im worried about
tokidoki: by itself, the bleach fillers were OK, but when compared to the non-fillers of bleach, i thought they sucked really bad
mthchan: thanks, i think im going to be using this layout for bleach from now on, and perhaps death note and d gray man as well
retsgip: i prefer ririn and hte others in human form since that way they dont remind me of dolls lol
hey, do anyone know any good website where i could watch bleach 111? not youtube.
i really want to see it.
Ririn scares me too. but she’s cute when in doll form. love the layout too!
Whoa you really write good articles!
Yeah sometimes I really get annoyed by those pointy chins and unproportionate faces. But I guess since it’s going back to the manga’s track the animation’s quality should be improving any sooner.
